Well, I finally got some big mods done! I went with 17” Icon Rebounds, Bilstein 6112’s set at 2.5”, along with Bilstein 5160’s in the rear with 1” shackles. I wrapped the Icons with Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs, size 315-70-17.

    My observations:

    1. No, I am not clearing the body mount. I will have to do a body/cab mount chop (BMC). Four Wheel Parts in Raleigh is ridiculously expensive and wants over $400 to do a BMC and they are 3 weeks out for scheduling. Four Wheel Parts guy said “we do it and get it looking extremely close to factory, plates included”.

Super Trucks Plus can do it ASAP, will only charge $200 or so, and he described it as cutting it, doing some “half moon” type work to it???? Does this make any sense to some of you more mechanically inclined folks? What do you guys recommend?

Another question, will it hurt the truck or mess up the tires to keep driving knowing I am rubbing on the body mount from time to time?

    2. I rub only slightly during tight turns on the front liner and will have to heat it up and mold it a little.

    3. The right rear tire sticks out of the wheel well further than all the others. What would cause this? Can it be fixed?

    4. I really love the way it turned out, and expected to have to do a little more work and fine tuning once it was complete.

    Advice welcomed ladies and gents!

Can you post pics of #3 on your list above? Sounds screwy to me.

Looks good! I love those Rebounds. If I didn't find the TRD Pro takeoffs I bought I really wanted those 17" Rebounds.

That's weirdness for sure. Did they give you the boxes for the wheels? Is it possible that one had a different offset?

Checked each box and they all show +25 offset and 17x8.5.

Where did you get the work done? I have heard bad stories about 4WP in Raleigh...

Fuquay Tire (Goodyear) did the work. I debated on riding up to Boss 4x4 in VA because they are awesome guys there, but my personal friend owns Fuquay Tire and has done this type of work before.

It is going back Monday and he said they will look at everything.

    Beautiful truck!!!!!

Mine looks almost identical to yours lol even down to the icons. I don’t however have the poke like you do with that one wheel/tire.

I’m in Charlotte NC, and I know it may be a drive for you, but check out Tarheel 4WD in Midland. They did my entire setup and I 100% love these guys. They’re doing my gears later this summer!

I almost debated on 315/70/17 but I played it conservatively and did 305/70/17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Zero rub but I’m sure I’d have some if I did the 315’s as well.

Have you thought about going cement on your front bumber end caps? I had mine painted Blazing Blue Pearl to match the rest of the truck and it really dresses up the front (and matches the rear bumper color scheme).

    Hey Silv,

Don't have any experience with the newer tundras, but in my 3rd gen 4Runner I installed an aftermarket trac/panhard bar which allows you to pull the axle back to center after you lift.

Compare the driver side offset to the passenger side offset, if the axle seems to be offset to one side more than the other, the soultion is to install/adjust your trac/panhard.

Hope this helps and congrats on the nice new rig.

Silv333 can you measure your wheel to fender height? I have the bronze rims sitting in boxes, although I have the Kings installed instead of the 6112s. I want to see if I'm going to run into the same issue with the BMC.

    Thanks.

Guys the Tundra rear axle is NOT centered under the bed. Been discussed in the past.

And many of you may find your beds aren't centered to the cab either!
