What exactly would we be getting for the price listed meaning kick out or no kick out (I prefer straight myself) and top plate or no top plate?

    Oh one or two.
That would be the price point for just standard bolt on sliders. Most people are going to want the kick i would think. No fill plates those add at least another 180 to the sliders.

I'd like to get in on this, but I'm having difficulty with the fact that we can't get the sale discount they have going on, and we can't even get the price of what it will actually cost. Seems to me that if we are funding R&D with our deposits, there should be some sort of benefit of paying a deposit 6 mos before you even know what it is you're buying, and having to wait for the product delivery. Free shipping, powder coating, or something similar would seem fair to me.. There's going to be a lot of sales for 3rd gen tundras once they get the specs down.

Not how it's going to work there will not be a lot of sales on tundra sliders if there were more companies would be building them. The OP came to me asking for this i said what it would take to make it worth it for my to spend the time designing. This is not us trying to fund R&D it's making it justifiable to us to spend the time designing a product for a reasonable price that won't be a hot seller at all.

If I even had the slightest thought is would be a hot seller I would of built a set on my own Crewmax months ago. We have had about 15 or 20 requests to build Tundra sliders over a last few years.

No one said I did want your business your looking for hand outs that are not going to happen. And who said the price point wasn't a discount. These could end up be $1000 dollar sliders and the 30 people wouldn't be paying that.

Look, I'm not trying to blow up this thread, but maybe I'm confused. Looking at your website, sliders for 4 runners and tacomas run for around $450... Now you're saying its a $1k product for the tundra, and I'm not sure why or if I'm missing something.

The thing is I was looking at buying P&P sliders for about $750 (about same price OP quoted) but I took stock into other posters comments that they'd prefer yours, but maybe I just don't understand why. The P&P have kick outs and plating in the front for about the price yours might be ($ not known for sure yet). Now if you dont plan on selling them again in the future, I get the pricing, but if we are paying full blown retail to subsidize the costs of R&D, and you'll be selling them at the same price in the future, then I just wonder why I should jump into the unknown? We get no benefit for taking on all the risk.

Thats weld on Bolt on sliders on a short bed tacoma are 595. TUNDRA sliders would be closer to our 96" sliders and those start at 605 for bolt on. TUNDRA sliders will defiantly be more then our tacoma sliders.

I had BAMF bolt on sliders on my Taco and the build quality and fit of the product was spot on. I had a great buying experiece and Jerry answered all my emails and questions. I'm pretty sure other members that have had and have his products feel the same way. I have bugged him for sliders since I first got my Tundra and have been waiting patiently for this. The reason guys want his products cause they know the build quality is awesome and he builds heavy duty shit that is not gonna fail. Just my 2 cents.

As @Tacotundra stated, it's not really stepping off into the unknown when purchasing from BAMF. People know his products and appreciate the quality. I personally know 2 of the people on the list already have brand spanking new sliders from other companies and are ready to switch. I'm guessing this will be a one time limited production run. You can see that only 8 people have committed, not looking to be a super profitable venture. If I hadn't just bought AP sliders less than 2 months ago, I'd be jumping on this but then, I know the OP and trust his judgement. Just my 2 cents. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Currently there are some pretty good options available: P&P, SDHQ, and White Knuckle to name a few. There’s others. These folks have already made a business decision and commitment to get em on the market. I’m absolutely convinced that @jlee can and will provide an awesome product. I’m just curious to see how this group buy pans out.

    Donnie,
I understand where you are coming from. There are other great companies out there that make some quality sliders. I have nothing against any of them. The prices range from 800-1k.. which is priced right I believe. At the price @jlee is ranging for this run is actually really good imo. His sliders are stout. I’ve seen them in person.. hung up and slammed up on..
A few good reasons I asked Jerry to do this. Was to hopefully get another one of the iconic fabricators to make our tundra some slider(even though I’m sure we all been bugging him for quite a while) possibly open up some doors to other things he can possibly fabricate for our Tundras.

My Orion wears a BAMF Bedrack made by @jlee and team, and through my business dealings with him, on also receiving a Tepui tent and other items, he was always more than upfront on costs, time frames and his final build quality of the product is amazing. I honestly get asked often where I got it from, and people inspect the weld spots and always comment well on it. It's like art!

Not saying anything negative against some of the other brands listed above, as I don't have their product, but with BAMF, from what I've seen and what I wear, the workmanship is top notch and worth every dollar spent.

    If it pleases the court.

Also, I'd be on this damn list, if I had the funds currently :( $1000 spent recently on a damn beautiful garden fence!, would have been sliders! LoL

Its unfortunate now a days that people are so concerned about the pricing of a product. It seems as if people have forgotten the saying of "Cheap shit ain't good, good shit ain't cheap". If people would just skip their daily $5 Starbucks or eat in a couple nights instead of eating out, it will save you some money to get that good quality product that you guys are planning on using.

I hate to say it, but R&D funds are never recouped when designing new products. I can tell you that our new behind the grille LED bar mounts have over 150 hours of design, fitment, testing, etc and they doesn't include all the materials that we have burned through. It's not about funding R&D, its about pricing a product fair to the market with the quality. I would tell you all about our sliders, but I am not here to sell ours over BAMF. We already know we are the most expensive slider on the market, but we aren't aimed at being the cheapest, our goal was to be the best. With that comes a price tag that most people don't want to pay, but the people who have paid have been pretty happy.

    Rant over.

Yeah I think @jlee mentioned kick out and fill plates were options for the extra bit. Which makes sense.

VERY cool of SDHQ to speak up on behalf of a competitor, class act. Just another good reason for me to continue my support of SDHQ.
I'm pretty sure the kick-out will be part of the design (his Taco sliders have it) and the fill plate, @jlee said would be about $180 extra.
