    Hi,
Just bought an 06 Limited and recognize that the battery has 2015 etched on it. Want to replace it before winter.

What is your favorite battery for your Tundra and why?

Look into an x2 by batteries plus, it’s an AGM, either group 24 or 27, usually they have online coops for in store pickup which are usually lower priced than group buys; and the warranty is local, you don’t have to ship a boat anchor back and be down a battery while waiting. That’s why I went with a X2. Or go Costco and never pay for a battery again

I have had good results with OEM Toyota batteries, and I add distilled H2O whenever a cell is low.

Make sure you specify one with higher CCA's than what is recommended.

Cant go wrong with interstate batteries. AGM are great but very expensive for my taste.

These days I honestly think any battery is decent as long as its cared for and isn't being used beyond its lifespan.

That said, the Diehard Platinum AGM was a great one. I ran out well beyond its lifespan and it never failed me until I left my truck alone for a few weeks. That was about 6 years after I bought it and it got temperamental after that.

They don't make the same exact model now, so I replaced with a Diehard Gold AGM. (Probably the same).

That is really surprising. Maybe because you actually service yours but there are threads here about their suckage. The Toyota battery on our Rav4 only lasted around 18 months. Toyota gave us another one for free at least.

^^ too funny. Must be a "stump" thing... your linked thread started by @Stumpjumper , and this thread started by @Stumplifter

Although a lot of the complaints on that thread about Toyota batteries are from 2nd and 3rd gen, not sure of there is anything to that. The 2nd gen crowd over at Tacoma World seem to fare better with OEM Toyota.

Bosch 36 month batteries from Pep Boyz. They last 36 months plus one day and die. You go back and they put a new one in for free! Best pro-rated warranty around.

Make sure to use Electric Grease on your posts and terminals. Use new felts, as well.

Got 7 years out of my last Walmart EverStart Maxx battery so I bought another one. I travel a good bit and a Walmart is usually close and open if I needed a replacement during the warranty period.

My Tacoma batteries lasted a couple of months longer. Toyota batteries suck but I had a Motocraft die at 9 months. Maybe I out to change that to OEM batteries suck

I fit an ACDelco 94RAGM with a small spacer I made from scrap wood. Got it for $175 shipped from Amazon which seemed good for an AGM with 800CCA.

I typically always run Optima Red Tops. I did just have one go out after owning for a year but in fairness, I had some drainage issues that could have prematurely killed it (along with sitting on the shelf a few months prior to purchasing). I have one in my LX470 for exactly 2yrs and no signs of degradation. Florida living without a garage!

Getting 3 years out of batteries in my truck, think its vibration and heat killing them early. Have had 2 that dropped cells and were just dead when I went to start them. On my second Wally World Maxx, warranty replacement. My next will be AGM for sure, supposedly less susceptible to vibration related failure, think $$ optima batteries. Got there great reputation from their AGM batteries.

The Optima batteries sit behind the counter for years at Autozoned before selling. The Optima Rep has to come in and ‘recharge’ them periodically. True story from Manager when I asked him.

Autozone shoppers are looking for $14.99 lifetime warranty brake pads. Bet $200+ batteries are a hard sell there.

Walmart brand for price, warranty and ease of 24 hr return and locations if needed. Don't know who makes them now, but a few years back it was Johnson Control.

Costco ~ for all the same reasons. Price, availability, easy returns and warranty. The Costco store is the closest place for me to acquire an automotive battery.
I believe my Interstate 24F was produced by Johnson Controls in Mexico.

I've had great success in the Colorado cold and heat with Wally World Batts. My corolla has its Wally world batt for 4 years and it never once have me an issue. I'll be grabbing a new Wally world batt for the Tundra today as Covid killed my battery (my tundra sat for a month). Best part is they know the brand they sell, it's basically likehavig a forever warranty on a battery.

My Walmart battery died after 33 months or so and I got a full replacement covered under warranty. I was informed that the warranty was from the original date of purchase, even for the new replacement battery. So my new battery is technically already out of its replacement warranty, even though I've only had it for 4 months.

Came back with an Everstart AGM Platinum. 4 year warranty on it. $150 plus tax. Initiate the test sequences.
