Anyone know how the Wildpeaks are on the highway? Are they smooth? I’m looking to go with the slightly bigger size 275/60/20 over the stock Bridgestones which are great on the highway. I do a lot of highway driving, no towing, and minor off roading. I noticed on the website that I can choose between load range “sl” or “d” and I was wondering if the “sl” would be a better tire for what I do. I’m not sure what load rating I have with the stock tires. Thoughts would be appreciated

Mine are pretty smooth but probably not as smooth as the load ranges you listed because I have load range E Wildpeaks. So far they have been great tires and are wearing well. Good in the snow also.

Your stock tires are most likely P rated. Atleast mine were and that is why I got rid of them for the E rated Wildpeaks

Stock tundra tires are SL-standard load. I run 275/70-18 wildpeaks, load E. Wildpeaks are great, ride well, quiet and look beefy.

And as far as load, SL tires will ride best- best if softer feel is what you like. D and E load ride firmer, especially on a half ton truck.

I have been running the Wildpeaks for over a year now and love them. Actually the size you are looking at. I think they do fine on the highway and i can't really hear them. But i do have the TRD dual exhaust so that's probably why, lol.

I am running 285/75r18 wildpeaks load E. Truck rides a bit stiffer than the stock SL but the truck handles way better. The load E tires don’t flex as much in corners and I don’t feel like I am going to roll the tire off the bead in a hard corner or evasive maneuver.

I have them in the stock 18" size and SL rating and am shocked still at how quiet and smooth riding they are but while still being great in bad weather and Snow too.
It is an unusual combination in an aggressive looking tire on a full size truck in my experience too.

I also have had several sets of Bridgestone Revo on my 2001 Tundra and they are almost the same amazing performance and quiet but they look like they would be quiet but not perform too,but they do!

I was wondering about Wildpeak AT3 myself. I want to go 285/60/20 since the width only adds about 2/10th of an inch on the inside wall. When I looked at a link about tires on here, it reads you can go to 65 diameter but not wider. Anyone know if that is true? I have a 19 platinum

I have the 275/60 r20 Wildpeaks in a load range E. Love them. Ride nice and smooth, although I haven't had a truck with anything but AT tires for years, so my perspective is probably skewed. They seem quieter than the BFG KO2 ATs I have on my LX470 and work truck, and are definitely noticeably better in the snow than the BFGs. (Which says a lot, because the BFGs are pretty damn good.)

I had 275/70/18 Es and they were very impressive on the Highway and off-road.
That is when they were $170 a tire so they were pretty much the best deal around. Now they are $270 a tire and you can do better for cheaper.

I'm considering a set of these in E to replace my OEM Michelins...thinking of sticking to stock size 275/65r18...

Can anyone speak to their experience with these in snow and rain?

They worked well in my first winter with them here in the snow capital of the world.....Winnipeg. No issues in rain either, but I haven't done any serious rain driving with them, just daily driving.

    I'm running 275/70/18.

    thanks in advance.

They are awesome in the snow and rain. I live at 8200' and drive a steep mountain road 80 miles round trip daily with either my work truck with BFG KO2s or my personal truck with the Falkens. I rarely even put it in 4wd with the Falkens unless its really nasty, they definitely grip better than the BFGs, which I'm much quicker to hit 4wd on. Both trucks probably carrying 500lbs in the back daily, although the shell on the Tundra probably keeps the weight a little further back over the axle than the toolbox on my Dodge.

We live in the mountains with a lot of snow, rain and mud. I have had Michelins, BF Goodrich ATs, Bridgestone and the Falken Wildpeak made under a different name (Open Range AT) for Les Schwab. The Wildpeak is the best tire I have ever had. We have them on both of the 4Runners and the F250 but we don't have them on the Tundra yet. I am not going to put them on the Tundra until I do the lift. Then it will get new wheels and Wildpeaks. The Wildpeaks are cheaper at Discount than the Open Range AT at Les Schwab.

Great traction and super smooth and quiet comparatively.

0424211438.jpg I'm running the Wildpeaks AT3 in a 295/70/18s on a 3/1.5 Toytec Coilovers lift and the tires fit the whole combination well... Beefy looking, great AT looks, both on road and off road versatility , plus highway quietness. All in one... Great tire.

All are cheaper or right about the same price.
The new Cooper Discoverer Rugged Trek looks awesome and very likely will be my next tire but they have only been out about a month so we’ll see how folks like them.

I have become a really big Cooper fan. Great tires, great prices, lots of options in the 275/70/18 size.
And they are made in the USA. I really hope the new Goodyear buyout does not screw any of that up.

I had the Falkens and they are a really good tire and they used to be super cheap which made them an absolute must buy. Now they have gone way up in price.
I’ll spend less money on a tire just as good if not better and made in the states now.

I recently threw some 295/70/18 Wildpeaks on some new FN wheels and have put about 4,500 miles on them, 2,000 of those miles last week on a roadtrip to Kentucky. I honestly have no complaints. I'm due for a rotation soon so I'll check tire wear a little more than me sticking my head between the fender lol. As far as road noise, nothing crazy or too noticeable. This is my first truck and A/T tires so nothing to really compare to, but I was very comfortable as the driver and passenger with these tires.

I'm running the P rated 275/60R20 Wildpeak AT3W on all kinds of terrain and love them. Ive had them on a little over a year and 12k miles with zero complaints. I don't tow heavy stuff so P rated is fine with me. I have pics of them on stock Platinum wheels too if you want to see them.

Quiet is a relative term. They are definitely louder than an HT tire. They ride harsher than an HT tire. But you get more grip off road and in the snow than the typical HT tire. They look fantastic though. I put the Falkens on last summer. Truth be told, if I had to do it over again, I'd probably go with the Cooper AT3 4S or the Yoko Geolander AT. I believe both of those are closer to an HT tire than the Falkens in terms of road noise and ride quality. But I don't have any complaints about the Falkens.
