    Hey All,

I keep bouncing back and forth between these 2 tires and sizes. Please give me pictures, pros and cons to the size and tire. In all honesty my truck is primarily a street queen. I do go camping and light offroad several times a year. I'd say a 75/25 split at best.

Size Width Height Wt Tread Cost
    Falken Wildpeak AT3W: LT305/65R18 12.0 33.60 67 19 (about 208 per tire)
    Cooper STT Pro: LT285/65R18 11.8 32.91 63 19 (about 234 per tire)

    Help make my decision easier.

I'd love to go 35. Just not in the cards right now. Maybe after the pro suspension and this round of tire wear out.

A little of this and a little of that.
Between the two choices you listed I would go with the Coopers, for what it’s worth.

I like my Coopers and would recommend them. I think Falken has really stepped up their game recently. I would seriously consider the ridge grappler. The RG is more of an AT whereas the Cooper's more of a MT. I've had great experiences with Nitto.

Loved the Falkens so much I put them on the Wife’s jeep. Her size is 275/55/20 so it can go on stock platinum wheels.

    @BlueBottle ... If I'm not careful, I'll be a DC carbon copy. I'm also considering the RB10's.

The STT Pro IS a M/T. You may want to consider Cooper ST MAXX which are hybrid A/Ts. I own both STs and STTs.

Well, that turned quickly. I'd love some Slee sliders, just not in the cards right now. Ha.

I know the tires are of different calibers. It isn't so much an MT vs AT thing as it is a I can't decide on which tire to get.

You should get a quieter ride out of the Falkens. We put them on my father in laws tundra and they are pretty quiet

Falkens all the way......My buddy has 306/65R18's in them and LOVEs the shit out of them up in Fort Collins.....That is the size and tire I'll be going with when I'm done with these STUPID BFG KO2's....the BFG's break loose when they shouldn't, trigger my traction control and slide when I am towing KO2'S BLOW...NEVER again....Falkens kick ass on street with a smooth quiet ride and they aren't spongy/ wear well and are killer on snow and ice/ wet roads..... Wish I had held out for them:sadviolin:

I had the original KO's on my old F250. They did rather well for me. Sucks you're having issues with the KO2's. I was looking at them, just don't like the fact they run an inch smaller than advertised.

Based off of @BlueBottle 's measurements(33.4/11ish).. The Falkens are darn near advertised size (305/65/18 :: 33.6/12). And from what I hear about the STT Pros... They run a little big (285/65/18 :: 32.9/11.8). Anyone have real world measurements of the STT Pro?

Being a pavement princess I'm leaning a little more towards the Falkens in 305/65. Plus at darn near $30 cheaper a tire.. Well you know... Anyway, anyone have any info on rubbing with this width on stock pro suspension and wheels. Concerned with rubbing on the UCA. I'm pretty sure they will not rub, just trying to confirm. Would 1.25" wheel spacers create rubbing on the fender liners? I'm pretty sure it would take the +60 to about a +28 for the back spacing. I'd rather not trim if I don't have to. Already removed the mud flaps.

When the time comes to replace the suspension and this round of tires i'll probably switch over to a 3 or 4" lift and 305/70 STT Pro's.. Unless something better is out.

I've read some good reviews on STT Pro and ST Maxx. Between those two brands, I would probably go with Cooper.

But there are other good brands out there besides those two.

I love the ST MAXX. Surprised how well they did in the snow yesterday. I've been able to testthem on wet highways, corning up Mt Evans, old bed rock mining "roads", and now snow. Couldn't be more pleased with my purchase.

I've got the Cooper APT? (made specifically for discount tire) on the tundy, and I'll put putting the Falken AT3's on the 4runner when I get the 550 bones. I've got brand new TRD wheels in my garage for the 4runner.

Well. I made my decision. I ordered 295/70/18 STT Pro. Let’s see how this goes.

DTD says the tires were delivered today. I've read @MidwestOverlanders build and like how the truck looks. This helped me make my decision. The question becomes...... 1" spacer or 1.25" spacer for a more aggressive look? I'll be sticking with the factory wheels, so the 1" won't be a problem.
