Hey, I’m new here. I had a question for you guys. I just got a 2011 Toyota Tundra TRD 5.7 and I want to put an exhaust system on it because it’s not loud enough for me. Haha. I really like the Flow Master Outlaw Dual Exhaust but I can’t seem to find any for the TRD. is there a difference or no?

    Welcome to the forum.

This won't answer your question...(I don't know the answer) but might redirect you. Just about everyone here will tell you to give Keith Carty at Dirty Deeds Industries a call @dirtydeeds (http://dirtydeedsindustries.com). He's done a ton of work with Tundra exhaust systems & will customize your exhaust for your particular needs/wants (performance, sound, etc). I have one of his systems. He'll take the time over the phone to go over it all - and answer any questions. He's awesome. If you search the forum for Dirty Deeds, exhaust, etc - you'll find plenty of material.

As far as the Flow Master goes...all I can tell you is I used to want one until I read all the glowing reviews here of Keith & DD. I got one & am not disappointed.

All that matters is engine size. TRD doesn’t mean anything unless it’s the pro with duel exhaust.

Plus one on anything dirty deeds.

    Curse you Perry the Platypus!
If you have a Tundra, you either go with @dirtydeeds or get the TRD exhaust system. Those are your two options. It was specifically stated in the fine print under the TOS you should have read when you signed up to post on this site. Good news for you is that they are both great systems and Keith over at Dirty Deeds is a top notch guy that knows these trucks inside out.

You guys are setting my expectations sky high. I ordered the 8-in recently and I'm eagerly awaiting it to show up. Don't think I have read one negative thing about dirty deeds exhausts!

I know it sounds like we're all fan-boys, but they are very good people to work with - that's the real differentiator. For example, if you're not happy with your 8 inch system, he'll build you another (louder or quieter based on your feedback) as long as you cover the shipping charges. I don't think any other Tundra exhaust manufacturer is going to offer you that.

Well I definitely believe you guys, I actually really liked the sound of the Corsa exhaust but between all the talk of most aftermarket systems losing down low torque and the mountains of positive feedback I felt like I didn't even really have a choice besides going with dirty deeds lol

A DD system will outperform Flowmaster. I have ran a FM, now I have the DD 8 inch.

Love my DD - was the first thing I did when I bought Tundra. Kieth is a great dude and runs a great small business. Give him a buzz.

Anyone feel like giving a primer into which product one should choose from dirty deeds? New to exhaust mods, but all this talk about more HP and a better sound sure has my attention. Seems like 8” is a nice compromise?
Is this a self-install? Will I notice it every time I start the truck?

Sound is very subjective - only you can decide that. General rule, the longer the muffler the quieter. Keith offers straight pipe (loudest) to 12 inch (quietest, but not quiet). I have the 12 inch system and really like it. I have a thread in the performance section called 12" BAM with some videos of the system (link below). If you call Keith, he'll pick your brain and recommend the system that he thinks you'll like.

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/12-bam-video.88127/

It's a bolt on solution (no welding), but you will have to cut a 2 inch hole in the tailpipe where the resonator clamps on. There are videos on his website on how to do this - or an exhaust shop could easily handle it for you if you're not comfortable doing that.

Check out his website. He’s got an install video and everything. Really simple to do yourself. He even did it with his eyes close as a joke. You’re not going to gain a ton of horsepower, but it definitely doesn’t rob any!

How does everyone go about getting in touch with Keith? I'd really like to use him but I've called and texted him a couple of times over the last few weeks and never received a reply. I also submitted an email but the person that answered said my questions can only be answered by Keith. I used the phone number that was supplied by his company so I know I have the right number. Kind of at a loss considering he has such glowing reviews but at this point I'm almost forced to go another route because my current exhaust is driving me nuts.
