Looking to install a dual exhaust on my 5.7L Tundra. I was looking at flowmasters and TRD dual exhaust. The price difference is huge and Toyota is telling me the warranty will be void if I get aftermarket. Anyone have any experience with this? What are y’all thoughts on the TRD?

X2 for Dirty Deeds. I have the 8"standard and it is a bad ass muffler. Service was great as well.

I have the TRD replacement that he's fixed some of the downfalls on the OEM version on. I have the 20x5 mufflers flanged with bolt on dumps so wheeling doesn't rip off my tail pipes. Just got DAP tuned too and man, it really brought the truck and exhaust to life!!

@rocky_mtn_trd you beat me to it.
If you put on 'X' brand exhaust, the dealer will not warrenty aftermarket parts they did not install, but that is where the exhaust manufacturer warrenty comes in to play. The dealer cannot deny a warrenty issue without proving and providing written statement that an aftermarket part was responsible for failure to another part. There are legal precedents. So if your water pump fails, they would have to prove that your aftermarket exhaust muffler was the cause of the failure (highly unlikely in this example).
The dirty deeds exhaust bolts right in place and uses the factory hangers. No modification the mid pipes, cats, or O2 sensors.

They told me if there was a knocking or some noise they could blame it on the exhaust and it wouldn’t be covered. I wanted to say bad things. When I questioned the lifted trucks they sale they responded we meaning that dealership cover those trucks! Apparently my leveling kit and tires voided my warranty also so might as well add the exhaust along with it!

I did the 20x5 muffler setup with bolt on dumps before the rear axle. It has a deeper tone than stock and is just slightly louder than stock at cruising speed. I did the 20x5 instead of a smaller size because I have a travel trailer and on hills the truck downshifts to 4th or 3rd. I did not want an overbearing exhaust while towing up an incline for a few minutes at 4000+ rpm.

Best thing to do is call Keith aka @dirtydeeds and talk with him about what you want you exhaust to sound like and he will build it.

I couldn't be happier with my 8" BAMuffler from @dirtydeeds. Keith will take the time to answer your questions to make sure you get what you are looking for. He is very knowledgeable on Tundra exhaust systems.

    Thanks for the mentions guys.

Moral of the story. If you have a catastrophic failure and need to have your warranty honored, change everything back to stock.

And give me a call. I’ll set you up with the perfect system for your use of the truck and your lifestyle.
