I struggled where to put this since this isn't a Toyota, but I see it a lot of EV chat in towing/3rd Gen threads.

This is a video about the Rivian R1T towing 6500 lbs for 2700 miles.

Total charging stops 20. For this trip, that is 10+ hours of "fueling".

    Interesting....

That charge Time is what kills EVs for me. Hydrogen EVs are what trucks need but who knows if we’ll ever get them

A hundred mile range while towing and driving half way across the country….no thank you. I know there are quite a few younger gens that are all for this EV life and I do think that eventually it will come to fruition but not in my lifetime. When they can figure out increasing the mileage between charges, building the infrastructure for these vehicles nationwide to where it needs to be and actually make the vehicles look good then I think these types of vehicles will begin to take off. Just saw a video where someone purchased a used Tesla and the batteries needed replaced at a price tag of 20 grand….ouch!

Assuming I did the math right, it appears the Rivian had to stop every 135 miles to charge for 30 minutes. At 65 MPH that's real close to every two hours. Drive two hours - fuel 30 minutes - repeat.

If I'm correct then that's a deal breaker for me.

Yeah, add to all those stops the fact that you've got a big trailer hooked up to the back of the tow vehicle and its gonna be a no way from me, too.

Pretty sure you're not gonna have the convenience of a pull-through style charging station.

I'm going to bet that campgrounds will add a surcharge if you drive an EV. Some already meter each site and charge (no pun intended) per kw/hr.
