Hey Everyone, this is my first post. I just got my first Tundra (2017 CrewMax TRD) last week after driving 2003 Tacoma for 10+ years. So far I love the truck. I receive a mandatory connected navigation update message every time I start the truck. It downloads the update, goes through the install, then fails. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance

Have you tried manually updating the HU?

Do you guys have any other ideas? Doing a little research, it looks like there is another firmware update, but it isn't available to download from toyota. I am assuming that would have to be done by the dealer at a cost. Is that something that can be accessed with a techinfo subscription?

When I was doing a 24 hour test drive on a 2018 from Carmax, I was getting the mandatory update as well and the only way I could get it to work was to pair my phone with the truck using bluetooth, install the Toyota app on my phone, manually go into my phone/app setting and give all the permissions to the app on my phone, register the vin with the toyota app on my phone, and then go through the update process on the Entune, but this time connected to the phone and downloading from the data plan on the phone. Unsure if any of that applies to 2017 but that was the complicated version I had to do...

When I ultimately bought my 2020 I went though a similar process, but was also able to download the update from the website and save to a USB drive and do it that way as well.

I thought that might be the case, but I have been unable to create an Entune account in order to use the app.

Yes they deprecated the app some time last year and sent out a notice to all of its active users. The message said to use the Toyota app that interacts with the connected services. I use the app all the time but I've not found any option in the app to interact with Entune or any of its features.

It looks like there is a new update listed in a service bulletin 13TDDANA-DA10_0123.kwi but I can't find it anywhere

Sadly my truck just prompted me for an update, so I did, and now Entune is gone and done, no more support either, so I deleted it from the app screen. Time to move on.

Know the feeling. I bought new Tundra, 2021. Does the truck have Navigation? Yep, sure does replied salesman. Signed the paperwork, wrote em a check. Can you show me how to operate the navigation as this one doesn't pop up like my 21 4Runner. Two hours later salesman was still trying to download, got the Scout downloaded but couldn't get past that point. I told the guy forget it, I didn't pack clothes to spend the night in San Antonio!! Went to another dealer, hey can you show me how to download the Navigation. No, not really, Toyota did an update and it's complicated. Screw Toyota!!! I'll just use my phone like always.
