I would like to clean my engine with without using a power washer, I noticed that over the winter I’ve got a little flaking on the aluminum sections of my engine, I was thinking of spraying it with WD-40 to protect it from getting any worse, I always spray my aluminum snowmobile engines with WD40 after the season, is that a good idea? any other suggestions?
    Thanks in advance

There's a plethora of YouTube video's concerning cleaning an engine. So far I can't convince myself to follow through with any of them.
Have a look ~ there's lots of suggestions out there on YouTube . . .

I used simple green, rinse with hose. Treat plastic and rubber with trim products, spray metal stuff that can rust with fluid film.

Thank you for the suggestions and replies, I’m really looking for something to protect the aluminum with, and wondering asking again is WD-40 a good idea to spray the aluminum with?

It'll burn off, anything will. The engine gets hot.
