That's not even the current Tundra air filter. Did you see the pictures posted earlier. Here's another one: I counted the same pleats in each one. The Wix is made in South Korea, the Toyota was made in USA.

    Nitrogen filled tires!
OEM. Buy them on-line from the Stealer. Way cheaper that way rather than walk-in. Same for oil filters and all other DIY parts need.

I just ordered 2 each air and engine filters for $63 USD. Free shipping got it in 3 business days from d and
I got 2 sets engine/cabin of Toyota filters free shipped to me by dealer for $64

I never heard of an OEM filter fail in any truck. Non OEM I know a handful. The one my Duramax almost snorted was a $70 (in 2010) Fram.

I am on first name basis with my Amazon driver. But I don't buy anything for my trucks or zero turn mower even. Lots of knockoff junk out there

WIX is supposed to be a good brand. I’d take it over FRAM lol

I just replaced mine with the more expensive OEM offering at last oil change, ~37,000 miles. The originals really didn't look too bad but when compared to the new I could see the difference.

I will say all the filters are very easy to change out.

My wife's last Nissan the cabin filter was made for gymnasts with very small hands. It was virtually impossibile.

Dealer wanted $220 to change them out during Turbo replacement. I picked up 2 'Carquest' brand from Advance Auto for like $17 each (and they give you a discount when buying 2). Not going to sink any more money than I have to into this lemon. Def not keeping it after lease end.

UNBELIEVABLE. $220. They take 30 secs ea to change with no tools. Ludicrous. There needs to be some sort of recourse for this sort of highway robbery!!

Wondering how much they would want.

Even that exceeds my inflated guesses.

TRD drop ins for me… if TRD option isn’t available, I get K&N… like on the wife’s Camry.

It's a little extra annoying because my truck is in having one of the Turbo's replaced. One would think, due the the potential inconvenience of the situation as a whole, maybe the dealer would be willing to eat the cost.

For me...The truck isn't my primary vehicle, so other than getting it to the dealer, and picking it back up (little over an hour away), it's pretty minor...Though I realized I had to move an enclosed trailer that I was storing my mowers and other 'sprint time' stuff in, after the truck was gone....doh.

I have 2 sets of k&n. I find it so much easier to just pull a set and have a clean set ready to install. Also gives me plenty of time to do a good cleaning and let the oil properly dry before re inserting into the truck.

I do the same with the cabin filter and change them every oil change.

The K&N filter oil in the squeeze bottle will last you for many years.. Simple Green is more cost effective for cleaner.

As a side not here, be cautious ordering “genuine Toyota” filters from Amazon. I received SIX knockoffs in a row, all claiming to be Toyota. All were returned. And when I tried to leave a review on Amazon stating that I received multiple knockoffs, they removed my review saying it “didn’t meet community standards”.

I said nothing in that review other than to avoid the product because you may get a fake.

so not only is Amazon shipping knockoff filters, they remove reviews warning others of this

the quality of what I was sent was very obviously a temu special. Never saw an air filter that so closely resembled a coffee filter :bananadead:

This is why you always look at the seller/shipper. I never buy unless it is a dealer.

Purchased the TRD’s when they were on sale and made a very honest assessment while they were in:
My truck drove smoother and 1mpg better with the OEM Paper filters

My only guess is the Air/Fuel ratios are perfectly calibrated w the paper.

‘I REALLY wanted the TRD’S to outperform……but for me…….the paper filters are just better.
Yes Turbo “Woosh” was a little more dynamic and, Exhaust slightly more vocal
    with the TRD’S

    Cabin filter: after market

‘BTW; Air filters do a better job filtering once they become a little contaminated when they have a little debris. Don't be in a hurry to swap em out too early

That means nothing. It needs to be a toyota dealer to be certain it is oem.

How do you know? the oem toyota filters are not made of some premium paper filtration material. The Toyota OEM cabin filter is the thinnest I have ever seen for a paper filter.

I should have take some pics! Let’s just say it was obvious and likely would be to anyone who’s ever seen a Toyota filter. I’m not saying that Toyota’s is fancy. But there were literal holes in the filter, as in the paper was ripped in multiple spots (and it happened across different filters). Printed text on the side was fuzzy and not the same as any other Toyota filter I’ve installed. Flaking rubber material (or whatever that material is that seals around the circumference of the Toyota filter). Just a really bad temu style fake
