Opinions please. Planning on installing an inverter (800W). Looking for input on wiring an inverter to my 2025 Tundra. I plan on putting it under the passenger seat. What recommendations do you have for this, please? How long should I get the cables? I am thinking of some 6 gauge. About either 6 or 8 feet to allow for routing. The battery is just on the other side of the firewall. Where should I route the wire through the firewall? Is there a pass through near there that anyone has used?

Two ways I could do it. One, have a fuse tap hit the contactor relay to power on the inverter when the vehicle starts. However this would mean the inverter is 'always on'. Option 2 below would be to wire in Anderson Powerpole connecters on the wire int to the glove box. Then have the inverter in (or near) the glove box.

I did check out this post which was very informative - https://www.tundras.com/threads/wir...-the-ignition-solved-writeup-to-follow.25273/

Electrical is not my strong suit so I'm of no help, but following with interest.

What kind of stuff are you looking to run off of it?

You already bought the inverter, but consider getting a pure sinewave inverter. Your modified sinewave inverter will run most things OK though.
I'd skip the contactor/relay route and just direct connect your inverter to your battery. If the built-in power switch isn't convenient to get to, then use the remote power switch that go power sells and mount that in a convenient location. https://a.co/d/7nUYGEq
    6AWG is fine.
Whatever you use for a protection device (breaker or fuse), make sure to mount it as close as reasonably possible to your battery. If you plan on drawing close to 800W off your inverter for more than a few seconds of time, you will want a protection device rated for >50A. 50A*13V = 650W and the inverter isn't 100% efficient so it will waste some power in heat.
    I don't have a 3rd gen so I can't recommend a firewall path.

Thanks Matt. I returned that inverter and purchased a Victron 800W per your recommendation on the Modified Sine Wave. I didnt realise there were options... Appreciate the guidance.

Well, now that I am going to install an 800W inverter I had to alter the breaker. Looking at this one. Does the 48V matter or is it up to 48 and it will work fine with the vehicle 12V system?

48V is fine. That is the maximum V rating.
