2015 Tundra SR5 Off Road

Hello . I have a 2015 Tundra CrewMax 5.7 auto trans. I installed an after market trailer brake controller ( Tekonsha P3 ) and read in a leading publication that if it was not factory installed that the ECU should be re-flashed by Toyota to benefit from all the systems features Like Sway (Yaw) control and other things. Apparently the ECU flash is different on the factory ECU starting in 2016. Just want to clear this up before I tow too much more. Thanks for any help.
