Bump for a good deal on tires. If tires are over $200 each, you can place 2 orders for 2 tires each and get $200 off $800. I have got my last 3 sets of tires this way.

    That's a good deal!

I get scared buying tires online, I haven't done it yet. Always wonder what if there is an issue with a tire what would happen with the return, shipping, fees.to mount & balance, etc.

I may pick up the wife a new set. It's always nice to have fresh tires for winter. Her's aren't shot but they are getting there.

    Thanks for sharing Sean.

I got my Michelin defenders last year, +1 from stock size for $640 shipped. The tire guy who mounted them for me could not believe it so he actually got a set for himself, so it had to be cheaper than even his cost.

Don't forget to have Discount tire (if your doing local price match) also price match DTDs certificate pricing, usually about 40/50% less .

I just did the same 4 Defender LTX for the wife's Durango for $612. Best price I could find anywhere else was $730.

The Bridgestone's I want for my wife's vehicle are $744 with the sale.

Local shop charges $29 per wheel for dismount, disposal, mount, and balance. So 744+116= $860

If I buy the tires from the local shop it's $863 mounted, balanced disposal, etc.

Makes more sense for me to go local. Bummer!!

I did this last year for my 4runner. I bought two tires over $400 and had a buddy buy the other two over $400 so I saved $200 off!

Thanks for sharing this. I found the Ridge Grapplers I've been looking at. I can order 2 and then order 2 more to get $200 off making my total around $1250. Maybe I can get my local Discount Tire to match the certificate price of DTD which is almost $20/tire cheaper....has anyone had luck doing that before?

I wanted to go local but that $730 was after a Michelin rebate but before mount/balance. I love shopping local but not at a $100+ premium.

Only works once per ebay account so you'll have to have someone else buy the other two for you.

In this case not much different than ordering from Discount Tire online or walking into their retail store.
Never had a bad experience buying new tires online from anywhere though.

Looks like ebay also has a 15% off coupon today. Wonder if thos can be combined with that?

Sorry - I should have quoted Pudges post. He mentioned there was a 15% ebay coupon going around as well and wondered if it could be combined with the $100 off coupon. I tried to use both on the same transaction but it would automatically cancel one or the other out.

Do you mind if I ask what you paid for the BFGs? I am debating between those and the Ridge Grapplers. Thanks

Ahhhh. Gotcha! I paid $728 for 4 BFG TAKO2's.....A wicked good deal. I work in a Toyota parts department and those were 180ish cheaper then I could get them through any of my vendors!

That is a smoking good deal. I am going to have to look at those now. That would save me quite a bit of money. My local dealership just quoted me $1250 out the door for BFG's with their buy 3 get the 4th for $1 sale. And I thought that was good....
