Anyone know what color wire is the DRL in the headlight for a 2005 double cab? I'm Looking to disable when I swap for my HIDs.

Actually now that I am remembering it, does your truck have a separate low beam and a separate DRL light bulb?

No, they are all one bulb.

Here's the wiring diagram. I'd try pulling the fuse first and see if that gets you anywhere. Not sure if it would cause any issues or not.

There is plug along the driverside fender-well that you can unplug that will disable the DRL. This is what I have done on my 2005 DC.

Could you take a pic of the plug you are referring to? I tried pulling the fuse but it didn't do anything so I'm going to try this.

It's not a separate wire at the headlight. DRL uses the low beam element, but supplies it with reduced power.

Here's how you disable it... at least on the earlier years. (Not sure if it's the same on your '05.)

I recently disconnected that DRL connector and it does indeed disable the DRL lights. Stoked on this because it will save the life on my Chinese LEDs bulbs hopefully. No ill effects from disabling the connector. All other functions remain the same.

So I found the plug and have been trying to disconnect it. Anyone else have trouble getting down to it with the battery there? Also, it's just a basic push in a tab and it'll pop out, right? I don't want to break it from doing it wrong lol

Yeah. You have to remove the battery which is a pain. The connector is a basic push tab and pull but may be tight from years of never being disconnected. I disconnected and then taped the two connectors individually up and then taped them together to protect from the elements. Used Super33 Electrical tape.
