I have a pretty distinct whistling / air noise sound on the drivers side of my 2013 CrewMax. It starts when I hit around 35-40mph and isn't too much of a bother driving around town but when I get on the highway it gets pretty loud. You can hear it pretty distinctly in the linked video. https://youtu.be/-wzYUSKnaNw

I'm slowly working through different things in the area and putting a piece of painters tape over different cracks, seals, etc. to see if I might get lucky and pinpoint the location. I'm starting to fear that it may be something in the door seal.

Has anyone else had this issue and was able to resolve it?

I would take it to a good body shop at around closing time with a 12 pack of beer. It could be your upper door frame got tweaked or your door seal is deformed. If your seal is in good shape a good body man would check door alignment and if needed roll the window down then place a small block in the door latch and give the upper frame a good push till the seal is compleate. You could also try using a good garden hose with a little pressure around the seal to find the leak.

Dud you find out what it is? I have the same issue.

If I close my side mirror then the noise stops. If I do internal air then the noise is minimized but comes back around 70 mph. If I do exterior air then noise starts around 45 and loud.

I have a nice whistle when driving 65+ with all windows closed and the air system on recirc. The noise cones from the rear window seal area. Turn it to fresh outside air and the sound goes away.

Had the same issue...brought it to the body shop, taped all of the doors and windows, still the whistle. Changed the mirror with an OEM, whistle went away..

I got a new cap... a new driver door weather gasket/guard.... still making the noise. I'm experimenting with weather strips from Amazon. I read that adjusting the door worked too.. but witb my luck, I probably strip the bolts or make it worse. Like how my driver side door knob assembly came lose inside my door when I was switching out the handle. Lol

I'll post it later today on how it goes. Been doing this for a couple of days. Trying out new spots to seal the cabin.

    Possible.

No luck yet.. whistling still continues. I went back to the mirror assembly and taped down the gaps where the mirror assemb meets the body. Whistling got really loud. Doesn't make sense how it got loud when all the gaps were covered and I've done this before and never did this. This is so annoying.

The mirrors are notorious for whistling. In strong winds and over X MPH they whistle. Toyota started to put those little sail pieces on stuff and that helped in some cases. My what ever year it was did that when I was going ?? MPH and the 19 Sport did it too at a certain speed. I have not heard it yet with the 21.

My 21 has it from the driver's side mirror. Very annoying but not noticable with the window closed

My Tacoma had a pretty bad noise on the highway and come to find out it was door weatherstripping and a fairly widespread problem. They were replacing weatherstripping with thicker versions to seal it up better. Could be the same thing you all are experiencing.

Mine sounds more like the first video. Whistling noise, as if the window was cracked opened. I already replaced the weatherstripping so that's not it.. thanks though. I'm trying more stuff to narrow down where it is coming from

I might have something gents. So I placed my hand on the side mirror arm and felt the suction from the vortex created. Then I tried this (image) and I am not getting anymore whistling noise. Other spots are just me testing the aero. I'm going to take off one by one to narrow down the spot but I think it is the side mirror arm area for sure. I tried something similar before but not horizontal.
