I took my 22 Tundra in for warranty repair for this door ding from a runaway shopping cart. The repair tech said it couldn't be fixed due to the brace behind the door speaker preventing access to the backside of the dent (see 2nd pic). Any ideas for a fix or worst case something to cover up the ding?

Maybe those dent repair guys in your neighborhood can fix it.

I also should have mentioned that the warranty is through Sonsio DingShield which subs out the work to local paintless dent repair companies. Thanks in advance for any advice!

I had a very similar one just this week and paintless dent repair guy came to my house and took care of it no problem. Can’t even tell it was there. mine was on the rear passenger door though.

Curious if yours was also in a crease, just like the OP's dent. A friend of mine who has done some PDR for me in the past mentioned that one of the hardest places to remove a dent with PRD is in a panel crease like above. It can be done, but typically not to the quality that your average ding can be removed.

My buddy recommended this guy after he fixed his car. His car definitely had a dent DIRECTLY on a crease. you can’t see it anymore, but you basically can feel a spot about the size of a ball point pen tip in the center of where the old dent was, but you can’t see anything there. You’d never know unless the guy put your finger on it.

That's some good work! Just checked out the photos above and the repair is impressive, no doubt.

I would think the crease on the passenger rear would have the same brace as the passenger front door. That's some impressive work on the repair. I'll look around for some second opions. Now I'm thinking the warranty company is just coming up with excuses to not repair because of the difficulty of the work area and potential repair cost.

I agree! I told him he was a magician! He charged me $375 and I was happy to pay it.

My truck has 2 small dents on the crease of the rear passenger door that it got delivered with. It went into the dealers body shop for PDR and they told me it can’t be fixed it would need to go in for body work, pull dents repaint etc. I said I wasn’t interested in that and took a $1200 pay out, left the dents.

Sometimes you can use hot glue to glue something over a dent. Then grab onto that something with vise grips and pull it out. Lastly, peel off the glue. Might not work really well on a creased area due to the extra force that will most likely be required though.

Any good PDR guy should be able to get that out with glue pull. Be careful tho, these tundras have poor paint for glue pull. My WCP platinum has one on the roof that the clear came off when they were pulling it. Now it’s going to the body shop. Thank god a company did the damage and I’m not paying.

In the past, I’ve had luck with god PDR tho
