Got the 60 day trial when I bought my truck. The sound for Sirius really sucks. Sounds really dull and flat. Is there an option with Sirius to make the quality better? Or some setting that I'm missing?

sounds great. Most likely your sound system settings. You might be missing the Bass if it sounds flat/dull.

I have had Sirius on several vehicles. I've noticed that some channels sound better than others. However, in general, it does not sound as good as a CD.

Years ago I signed up with XM before the XM/Sirius merger. I went with XM over Sirius because I read the sound was less compressed. After the merger I could definitely tell the difference. It now does sound flat to me compared to the original XM. I have a couple other gripes with the service since the merger but not enough to drop it simply for the convenience of not having to station flip while traveling.
The sound is not what it could be/used to be.
All in all, I'm slowly getting closer to pulling the plug and dumping it.

You have a JBL. Try adjusting the settings. CM-it's a big cab! Could be with the XM though/mine didn't sound great until I adjusted the settings.

I'm not 100 percent sure how the actual antennas on the satellites that Sirius uses are configured, but with military "birds", you arrange the high bandwidth (higher quality) spot beams to smaller areas, like cities, whereas the earth coverage beams are of much lower quality but cover almost an entire hemisphere. If the quality is better in urban areas than out in the sticks, then that may prove my hypothesis.

I have always had excellent sound quality from XM/Sirius radio. Probably a setting that was overlooked.

    Keep us posted.

I have a CM with JBL and Sirius sucks ass, same as on my Lexus.....it's so bad that I didn't even use it at all. USB and Bluetooth streaming works great.

Wow, that sucks. I do have to admit, XM is not in my Lexus or my 12' Tundra, but others have been great. My current tow rig, you feel like the concert is inside the cab.

I had Sirius/xm for 90 day trial. Never liked the sound. I use slacker with no commercials and the difference in sound quality is night and day. Not only that found satellite sales people constant badgering so annoying and pushy there was no way I would do business with them

It does sound horrible. I let it go and because I have an old package from Sprint (unlimited data) that came from Nextel, I just run Bluetooth from my SiriusXM app. It sounds better and I have more stations. I don't have Nav in the truck so when I use Siri, her voice just meshes in with my music.

yep bank account is running low from it..
Mine has always sounded good.. my new one I just put in my tundra sound better than my old unit.

Alot I believe is on the module you use. If running a factory tuner they suck and aftermarket ones are good..

Agreed! I have a head unit ready to go too! Maybe I'll switch in the spring.

I just purchased a Sony deck that came with SiriusXM free for 3 months and a 70 gift card and it does sound good in my truck. I used to have Sirius before the merger with XM. I haven't had it for some time and I like it so far. It has only been for a few days but I do like having the option of playing a variety of music without a lot of commercials. I wasn't paying 25.00 a month at that time so the price has changed a lot. I also had the unit that you add to a deck that is already installed and uses a radio frequency to get your channels. I like the newer version I have now much better since the connection is much better without the static of using a non-existent radio signal. I don't know if I will keep the service for very long after my free trial just simply because of price.
