Does rim width affect tire height?

Hey guys,
I’m pretty new here, so sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere. I’m looking at mounting a 295/70/18 on my 2020 tundra. New wheels arrived today and are 9 wide ( SCS ray 10’s)
The listed tire height is 34.3 inches, ( Toyo AT3) but I’m wondering if that is lowered when running a wheel that is 9 wide vs stock 8 tundra wheel.
I’ll be running a boss aluma lift so it doesn’t really matter for fitmemt- I’m really just wondering for trimming requirements. Thanks so much, I’ve learned so much from this forum already!

 

What lift do you have if any?

 

IIRC tire size is measured on an unloaded tire. The height will be slightly shorter once the tire is mounted and inflated as the sidewalls push out.

I thought narrower rims decrease the height a pinch as more side wall is eaten up in the bulge of the tire.

 

Additionally if you look at specs those heights and widths are at 80 PSI in the tire when they do the measurements.

Look at the 285/75R18 size also. I have had that size in the Cooper AT3 XLT and the new Toyo AT III. You will get the height you want and it is a little bit narrower so you don’t have to trim or chop anything.
