Does it effect towing capabilities?

    Toytec Boss lift, Black Rhino Warlords wheels, 295/70/18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers, SDHQ Sliders, RBP grill, color matched surround and bulge, Kendwood head unit.
    Now that I have your attention, does a moderate (3") lift kit have an effect on the truck's towing capabilities? Does it lessen the max or change anything vital? Are there adjustments to be made?

    What size lift would start to have an effect?

    What about wheels?

    I want to lift a tad for some bigger tires, but I don't want that to kill the towing.

    2"CB shackles, bushings and 1 shim, lockerdown console vault, rear folding seat back mod, snugtop shell with opening side windows, 46g fuel tank, SDHQ sliders and hidden winch, Decked Drawers, Alcan leaf springs and got rid of the interior chrome
    The lift will have little effect on towing, larger wheels will.
    How much depends on how large. As wheel diameter increases, torque (as it is applied at the road) decreases.

    looking to replace factory Radio with a pioneer avix588bhs
    The weight distribution hitch would have to be readjusted if one exists or height adjustable tongue..or lift the trailer by same height..lol

    If your going to tow light, a small lift will be ok.
    If you want to tow heavy, leave stock height, get LT tires, upgraded shocks, possibly air bags

    If just got my tundra for towing. Down sized from a F350 crew cab long bed.
    Tundra does ok with light loads...... but getting up in the 5-6k lbs.... starts to be more of a white knuckle drive

    The big question, how much are you going to tow and how much reduction of towing performance are you willing to give up for “looks”???

    I have a 2.5 inch lift on the front and airbags in the back.....my wheels are 285/65r18 on custom 18inch wheels...... I tow 6000lb travel trailer(that is loaded) and it tows like a princess....... I also have a blue ox sway control hitch...... Bilstein 6112's up front set at max height...... I will be adding a toy tec add a leaf to the rear that lifts the rear 1" to 1.5"...... My rear shocks are the ARB® - OME™ Nitrocharger Sport shocks....... best suspension I've had of my 3 different Tundras..... I'd imagine the ARB OME front suspension would be great as well and would lift the front 2.5 to 3 inches...................... The key is to get the airbags with on board air compressor if you can afford it!!! She Drives Like A Princess.....:burnrubber:
