Title. Thank you, gang! There are plenty of folk 'round here praising truck. Does anyone actually use one for work? Hauling tools, plywood, home depot stuff...

Thank you. I will be forced into acquiring third gens very soon and I can't endure or resist much longer, I'm afraid.

Ps: I've been looking for some pictures of "3rd generation tundra construction site", and I can't find a single photo hauling them building junk. It's all clean empty trunks. Or towing boats.

Example: looking for something like this.

Not personally, but I've seen plenty of company trucks.

IMG_0529.jpg IMG_0190.jpg Yes I use mine daily hauling everything you can imagine to bags of concrete, wood, furniture with several trailers. I have a couple small trailers I use to haul my lawn care equipment when my big trailer is full of pine straw but usually I’m pulling a 16 ft trailer every other day. It pulls great and I’ve already got 30k miles on it since July 23.

I use my as my company truck. Working in survey for a road construction company. Only carry a measuring tape and PPE. Ive seen atleast 3 or 4 tundras as company trucks. Even seen one around my house that hauls a food trailer.

By the way, this is around the Dallas,TX area.

One of the highway engineering firms on a big road construction project is running Tundras. I have see some of them Estimator/PM/Site Supers for a roofing company and a moving company rolling in new Tundras. A few carpenters as well with racks and one painting company.

I use mine occasionally going to visit job sites and customers as well as side jobs here and there.

So most of them have been boss trucks.

Anyone come across any quirks with new pickups? Stuff like rounded bumper when tailgate down? I like to use my old one to step on when climbing in. Rear bed depth? I've seen some people complain old ones were too deep, but I actually prefer deeper bed.

Any electronics in the way near(under) tailgate that may go bad if hosing down bed? For example from hauling cement and bag borke..

Climate/screen instrument panel usability if wearing gloves? Does it need screen protector?(ffs)

    Thanks.

I don't understand why, but that looks like a bed of a tacoma:notsure:prompted me to research bed dimensions.

It is a Tundra bed for sure. Look at the rear window. No little window to open up just the full thing. Also is a 6.5’ bed not the 5.5’.

Well, I'm retired so my truck doesn't see a lot of "work" but I drive it a lot and take it 4 wheeling. So I don't baby it. Doesn't count as work but oh well. My 2 cents.

I need to clarify in case someone may think this is coming through as a rant or whatever. If you just drive around in it, that's fine. I was just hoping people who use it for work can chime in with stuff that makes or breaks certain aspects of using it for work. (Ex: some features that turn into a super niusance)

    Thank you gang.

I'm sure the biggest thing would be 5.5' if you have thsy size bed. Just trying to get stuff for the house is a pain with a 5.5.

They offer 8ft bed option, which is probably what I'd have to lean into. Haven't seen one ever at the dealer.

    Screenshot_20250415_113018_Brave.jpg

Did the turn radius get worse? I handle mine fine, but if new ones turn worse, then we'll i guess it'll also be fine. Maybe a little less fine, not sure.

Third gens have non intermittent vipers too? I thought they didn't have work package, hence all regular featured truck? I couldn't find work truck package looking through Toyota website for '25s.

It's such an easy upgrade, just swap out the wiper stalk and you're good to go.
