Do you run wheel locks to protect from wheel theft?

I just put on a set of takeoff TRD Pro BBS wheels. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but I know what I paid for them so I'm worried about theft.

Do wheel locks actually prevent theft? Do you run them? Any suggestions for a brand, if so?

I lost ALL 4 on the old Honda Accord (that year/model has a different design and was a kick for other higher end, think Audi, so theft was like crazy) and they left my couple on two bricks and damaged the rotor, front end and back end and not to say, wheel/tires to replace it. After 4 weeks (3 different delivery from NY area with all kinds of different combo of wrong wheels) the first thing I did when I got home was wheel locks. Going forward, even lease cars, wheel locks if it doesn't come with from dealer. It is not entirely theft proof, if they really want it, they will have it. But it is kinda like the cat guards, it helps move them along looking for easier targets.
Funny thing, took the truck in last week for the last on-record free oil change, and they need to do a tire rotate, which I totally forgot and the key was in the bed lock box and they had to find me (I was walking the used car lot, you know, looking) and had to go get it myself so they can get it off for rotation.

 

The dealerships usually have them at the parts counter if you don't want to order them online.

 

My dealer gave me a set when we got our truck. One for each wheel.

When we went aftermarket wheels, I replaced them with full set of black lugs, Gorilla locking.

Just make sure you don't loose the key and have it stashed somewhere in the truck.

 

No Wheel locks for me. The meth heads around northeast Wyoming usually steal tools. Since I shot the last one & put him at the mailbox I have not had any problems with vagrants or theft. There’s also a bunch of strategically placed solar motion lights that surprise the uninvited.

@SR5style if you buy the locks you should get a card with the key code on it.
Toyota locks are made by Mcgard.
I ordered a spare key because I have issues.

I'm actually thinking about pulling mine.
I bought a complete set of TRD spline lugnuts and locks that came with a spline socket and lock key.
I really don't need the locks, I actually broke one on my 97 4-Runner years ago.
The locks will be a deterrent, but if a thief wants your wheels bad enough, he only needs some cheap 12-point sockets to hammer onto the locks to get them off.
That's how I got my broken one off, when I got mine off it split the socket...

But I don't blame you for wanting the locks though.
I'm so paranoid I have a Toyota spare tire lock on my spare..
