Sams Club charges $15 per tire for installation that includes road hazard. DT charges $21+certificates, so it’s closer to $50. Has anyone been successful in getting DT to match that and include their certificates for replacement?

I don't know but have you actually had your vehicle serviced at Sam's? I hope they are better than Wal-Mart or I'm not allowing them to touch my truck.

DT is my go to place for tires. I was just hoping they would match on the install. I wouldn’t have Sams put them on my truck either.

Local Costco has always done very good for me and where the savings are in the Install without any jacked up added cost
Discount Tire slaps on extra charges like the stupid certificate charge plus they charge more to mount and balance so it ends up over $115 MORE than going to Costco for same Tires and yes excellent free service after the purchase.

Certificates are optional. Costco does have road hazard but discount tire also repairs flats if they can (even if you don’t purchase tires from them, unlike Costco). The replacement certificates are a no brainer if you take your truck off-road since it covers literally anything done to the tire.

Not really sure how dt does anything outrageous for normal installs either? $20-25 a tire to install with lifetime balancing.

The only benefit I see is that if you have a citi card with Costco the extra few percentage in rewards.

Does Costco also include lifetime rotations? That's one of the big reasons I like DT.

Getting new tires for the wife now. Thank you for the heads up on the sale. I had to tell the guy about it, and got him to match directs certificate cost of $21 instead of $34.50. So all in was about $60 more than Sams, which I will gladly pay to have it serviced at DT.

Agreed on DT, I've been 3 times in the past 5 years to get tires plugged or repaired for tires that I didn't even buy from them.

I checked several tires that I have been looking at....price is no lower than it was 2 weeks ago. What's the sale then?

Couldn't combine it with Michelin's rebate. Turned about to be about the same.

This morning there was $80 instant savings at checkout when you purchase a set of 4, online only. It's not up anymore.

i tried this just for giggles

I found Michelin LTX M/S2 18’s for $129 on Amazon

Via chat, DT price matched them down to $123 per tire

They Also didn’t qualify for the $80 rebate but different sizes would. I had them find a size that did, that was compatible with my truck

then told them the best I could pay was about $100 less

the lady asked when I wanted to have them installed

To compare prices of tires you would compare ours to our competitors with our cost WITHOUT certificates. Why? Because we include a free pro-rated road hazard on every tire we sell whereas our competitors are charging you for that same pro-rated coverage.

If I am beating Costco or Sam’s or NTB or anyone, I go on their website, get the price for 4 tires installed out the door with local taxes and I beat that price without our certificates. Certs are extra on top of the pre-matched price. We offer free replacement for the life of the tire with certificates. No one else does. You can’t compare our certificates to anyone else and giving you free replacement certificates at the same cost of our competitors pro-rated coverage de-values our coverage and services.

If you go through the link that was provided up above, it's on select tires and I believe select sizes.

Bought some Nitto Ridge Grapplers today for my wife’s Land cruiser from Discount with a military discount. They also had a set of slightly used tires which owner drove 17 miles and decided he wanted bigger tires so I got an additional $100 discount on tires. On next purchase they will apply this $80 discount on my Tundra with this Flash Sale. Great Discount store here in Edinburg, Tx. Thanks Ian.

When did you start offering the prorated road hazard? In the past when I’ve had an unrepairable tire at Discount, I’ve had to pay full price for the new tire, so I started buying certificates. Also, I thought certificates were only for 3 year or 3/32nd whichever comes first. Has the year requirement been lengthened?

And I’ve been a happy DT customer for almost 20 years including today when I put new ones on the wife’s GX.
