I just ordered the MagnaFlow dual exhaust for my Tundra but after listening to the DD I hope I made the right choice. DD sounds awesome

Did you go with or without the resonator?

 

If you are asking me, I did not install the resonator. My plan was to put it on without it to test out how it sounded. After a couple of months of usage, I decided not to install the resonator. Drone is minimal. The family sleeps perfectly on long trips since it's quiet on the highway, but man as soon as you step on it IT'S ALIVE!

 

I'm so pumped! I'm thinking no resonator also. My wife threatened me if it's to loud she will not be in the truck with me lol.

 

Just ordered mine today. 8” stainless w resonator.

The wife shouldn't mind. Mine doesn't, even when I step on it. She actually agrees with me that my truck sounds badass to match the badass looks. The exhaust quiet when cruising around town and the highway, but step on it and it growls. Just wait until you first turn it on.....left me smiling all day.

Finally was able to install my @dirtydeeds 8" and absolutely love it. No resonator on mine. I was a little nervous about the neighbors but honestly sound about the same when turning on the truck and idle. Absolutely love it.

 

I put mine in on Saturday. I installed the resonator, love it. Very straightforward install.

 

Did you compare the system with and without the resonator? Is there a big difference in soundbif you did?

 

No I just went straight into putting the resonator on. I didn’t want to mess w it hot. It has zero drone. You can only hear it when you get on the throttle.

 

I have the 8 inch. Tried it without resonator. With tailpipe resonator. With resonator before the Y pipe. And both tailpipe and Y pipe resonator.

To my ear (everyone is different) there is a dominating deep frequency in addition to the throaty sound of the exhaust. The tailpipe resonator cancels out a lot of that dominating deep frequency without really changing the throaty sound. Compared to no resonator, the interior will be much quieter with resonator.
