Dirty water drips out of Toyota bedliner after wash

Anyone else have this problem? Im gonna ditch it and get a spray in. Is stock bedliner easy to remove?

 

Very easy. Drop in berliners are the worst. Pop the sides from under the bed rail, pop the front edge up over and pull up and back. They are notorious for holding debris and rotting holes in the bed.
They are useful as a bed slider. Cut the sides off and use it as a sled to drag materials out of the bed easier.

 

Agree , worst thing ever put on trucks. Whenever you buy used , you should always lift the bed liner, 95% of time you'll find rust. Had old s-10 with one and whole front of bed seperated and fell. Got my Tundra sprayed with bullet liner and still use the bed rug, easier on the knees.

 

Thanks for the reply. I'm gonna go mess with it in a minute. Hopefully its not bad. 14,000 miles used 2018 but is been kept up.

 

HA - my buddy with an F150 took his truck into the dealer thinking it had some kind of oil leak. Turns out it was the black ink stained rain water from some black mulch he was hauling around leaking through the drop in bed. He's an idiot.

I removed mines last week, rust start building up and I'm glad i removed it

 

Crazy how many leaves and sticks were under there.

 

found a bottle cap probably dated way back 2014 .....

 

Bed looks good. The shop will scuff up the bed before they apply the spray-in liner so it will all get cleaned up.

 

Spray in is the way to go. Had mine done a few weeks ago but it wont help your initial issue which was water leaking out after a wash. I have two large wood block pieces, 6x10 that I drive up on with my front tires when I wash my truck so the water runs out immediately and then you can dry the truck and not have to worry about ruining the finish with water after you do the detail work. I hated that i would dress the trim and dry the truck to eliminate water spots and then you drive and water splashes all over the bumper and below tailgate.

 

I used Herculiner on my bed, then put the drop in liner in. I need a drop in for impact resistance.

 

Agreed. I had a drop in liner in my Tacoma - I had it for 16 years and no issues with rust or debris, and I liked it for the impact resistance - I never misused it, but I knew that I could technically drop cinder blocks in there and it would not bend the bed. But having the herculiner under the drop-in is a good idea.

 

I am curious as to why there aren't any drain holes in the front of the bed though. Considering adding a couple myself.

That’s the route I went and for once the tundra bed mat from Toyota is the cheaper option!
