The 8 sounds more throaty than the 12. The sound builds throughout the entire rpm range whereas the 12 will level off sooner. The steady uphill/light load 60 mph +/- hum is more noticeable with the 8 vs the 12.

You know you have a performance exhaust with the 8. The 12 has a deeper tone than stock, but the volume is only marginally louder than stock.

The resonator is really not that difficult to install - just take your time. You could even have an exhaust shop install it if you don’t want to be bothered. It makes a difference. I ran the 8 with and without the resonator and the interior sound is very aggressive without the resonator. It was much quieter with.

Keith is pretty cool and patient when it comes to recommending a system. I was on the phone with him for 1/2 hour - twice - and never felt rushed or like he was getting inpatient so let him help you.

I’ve had lots of muscle cars and trucks over the years, and my advice is that it’s easier to live with an exhaust that’s too quiet than too loud. The loud is cool in the beginning, but it will wear on you over time. Only you know what’s too loud for you.

    Good luck.

How is the 8” w/resonator while just normal driving? I ordered an 8”, but I’m like you...I like a more aggressive exhaust but constant noise gets old quick.

It only makes noise when you’re on the throttle, and it’s relative to how far into the throttle you are. Normal driving is fine. Flat highway is almost silent. Full throttle sounds really good. The only time I found the 8 a bit instrusive is holding a steady 60 mph +/- in 6th gear on steeper inclines. You can downshift to 5th to bring the rpms up which will get you out of that slight drone spot. The stock system did it too, just less noticeable.

I'm in the same boat... I put JBA long tube headers and a catback exhaust with a Vibrant ultra-quiet resonator on my old Titan and LOVED the sound, which I kind of miss. I'm really debating the 8" or 10" system. I'll be getting a hefty bonus in March, so maybe I can convince my wife to take an "advance" on it...

I got a system from Keith when I was 19 for my FJ close to 6 years ago now. Keith is a great guy (still have his number saved in my phone for help) and his product is great! The exhaust hasn't rusted a bit and still sounds as good as the day I put it on. Thank you Keith and Dirty Deeds!!

Just called and talked to Gloria. Paid in full. Sounds like they’re still quoting around 30 days of build time so it’s good to know they have a plan to fill all these orders! Can’t wait.

Can anyone chime in on the installation of an 8'' system? I'm not very handy and this is my first truck, so I am hesitant to install it myself because I don't want to screw it up. So I'm curious if it's pretty easy or not.

Learn to wrench on your own things - even if you can afford not to. Lol
This is a good start - exhaust is cake to tackle. I just did a dual catback on my lexus (lowered cars suck) and only took 31 minutes start to finish.
Eta - and always provide enough time. You think it might take 2 hours? Set aside 4 just in case. Wrenching under pressure sucks and you almost always F something simple up. One of the reasons I always have owned 3 vehicles between the wife and I.

Maybe I'll do a lottery. If I can get 30 or 40 guys to "buy a ticket" for $20, one person gets very lucky and I get to buy my 8" DD BAM
