Okay, I'll give you a helping hand here! So a general rule of thumb is that the higher you mount your lights on your vehicle the tighter the beam you should use to take the best advantage of angles and the intended purpose of the different beam patterns.

    Ex.
    • Roof Rack - Spot Pattern
    • A - Pillar - Driving Pattern
    • Bumper - Fog, Flood
What I would if I were you... Start with returning the BD SAEs. They simply don't perform as they should. Since you already have squadron sports and have mentioned A-Pillar I absolutely would move those up there. The Baja Designs Spot pattern is an imperfect pattern so it will open up nicely as your distance from the vehicle increases, and is actually probably my favorite lights on the A-Pillar due to it being a very nice bath of light. Aim them stick straight down the road. In the lower bumper I would put a couple of sets of Diode Dynamics SS3s. If you have round openings they can be purchased with round bezels. I would personally choose one set of SAE fog pattern, and the other in a combo pattern. Color and power level is of course entirely up to you!

If you have any other questions or want to pick up any of this stuff just let me know and I can help you out! :)

Thanks for all the guidance, @memario1214 ! This has been a challenging experience for me - feel like I did my due diligence in research and despite that, got the wrong stuff. Was able to call today and get the BD SAEs cancelled in time, so that's a financial/hassle win, I guess. Very frustrating bc I was trying to get all the lighting and winch installed before the bumper goes on - I would've never thought the lighting would stop the process. So now, it looks like the bumper's going on with the winch and light bar and I'll get to play Stretch Armstrong with the fog light pods once I figure out what's going on there. (Grumpy old man talk there)

Still trying to decide if the Sports are going back - I'm not looking to 4x4 at night, just trying not to add any iron to the diet of white tailed deer out here and still get some offroad rec lighting for "bunny trail" overland campouts. With that limited purpose, I'm thinking there's no real use for offroad lights on the A-pillars if they're not street legal given that I have a 30" light bar.

I truly appreciate the recommendations and I'll certainly factor it into my decision. I'm about sold on a pair of the DD SS3 Max Yellows - do you know what the lead time is on those?

If you're looking for the ones with the squared bezels I have a few sets of those on hand right now! None of the rounds on hand at the moment, but there should not be an outrageous lead time on them (1-2 weeks). What shape holes are you trying to fill?

I really like my DD amber fogs. They are SAE but deliver a ton of light. Im almost worried most nights that im blinding people. They really reach out to the left and right sides of the road and illuminated street signs. I cant imagine what the pros would do. My fault was that I wish I had adjusted them before i installed them. Otherwise, you gotta take them back out to adjust. PITA

So you got the sports and you’re worried they’re too bright? Or just aimed up too much?

Where on your N-Fab bumper did you end up mounting these? Curious as to how you aimed them side to side with the brackets.

Man... I was wholly disappointed with USPS this holiday season. They were just not prepared. 1 month+ delays for priority shipping was so hard on trying to maintain good CS. The pricing and timelines looked so nice... But this year anyway UPS at least kept my stuff moving. I'll stick with them at least for the time being.

Actually I have not mounted the DD fogs yet. The picture is of the current Baha Design fogs.,I’m replacing the BD one with DD because the BD will not pass state inspection. Anything should be better than the BD because their spread is terrible

You will be happy with the DD fogs. You can run them without headlights with the spread in them.

Reminds me of a Frank Zappa lyric about yellow snow! ;-). Seriously though, this an awesome pic and sorry for everything y’all are going through down there with weather and horrific power outages.

I received by SS3s from @memario1214 last night and I'm excited to get them installed. Hopefully we'll get a little warmer weather soon and I can get them installed.

I read through this thread, and see that many recommend installing zip ties to eliminate wiggling, but I did not see any pictures. Does anyone have any? Or will it be pretty self-explanatory when I get to install them?

once you get the lights and mounting brackets it’s pretty self explanatory. I was worried about that too, but got it figured out no problem and I’m the least mechanically inclined guy around.

Does anyone know if the Tacoma fog kit is the same as the Tundra fog kit? Or are the brackets different? I found a great deal on some SS3's but its a Tacoma kit.

Been looking for a fog kit as i've been doing a lot of driving in thick fog and snow storms and my white BD XL's are useless in those conditions. Don't want covers as they're amazing in normal conditions.

I got mine installed this weekend and had the chance to drive with them this morning. They are definitely a huge improvement over the stocks, and are much brighter than my halogen head lightlights. I think i need to do some aiming on them, as i can't even see light from the head lights once I turn on the fogs.

And of course, even though i was trying to be careful, i managed to break clips on the brackets for the fender liners on both sides. Anybody know the part numbers so i can get replacements?

    BINGO.

As for aiming, the top cutoff of the light should fall 4" from the center of the fog light housing at 25'
