Can someone get me a measurement of the height of the center of the beam on a wall? I'd also need to know the trucks distance from the wall.
I'm adjusting mine, and I believe they are all the way down, but still look too high to me.

Yes, plug is on the bottom.
They may be fine, kind of wish I marked where the factory ones were before I removed.
Saw a post about at 25' they should be around 20" from the ground. I will check to see if mine are close to that.

Yep, I have a 2012. look up Hotshot Offroad. He is more active on the Tacomaworld.com site, but has an online presence. He by far has the best pricing on lights for any truck. I have put this same Pro set up on mine,.....would never look back. Absolutely worth it. Wait for Labor day or black friday sales. 25% off will be coming up.

You you guys recommend this or Baja designs fog lights? I know its about $100 price difference but Baja designs offer lifetime warranty on their products.

Diode all day. Baja’s attempt at an SAE fog light fails tremendously for the cost of it.

At $520 for the Max....it’s gonna be a hard sell when the Pro is half the price for probably more light than most people would ever need haha. Ide love to get them. But that’s a little steep for fog lights.

Man, Diode Dynamics is awesome! I was still within their 90 day return/exchange window with the Pros I bought back in September. They're willing to take the Pros back as a full price exchange for the Max! (I'm paying the $200 difference, of course.) Wow. A great product, and great cust service too.

So I went down the rabbit hole looking at these fog lights. Daniel Stern is an authority on Lighting so I read his article about Selective Yellow Light. I have been buying lighting from Daniel Stern for the past 10+ years (HIR bulbs for my Land Cruiser was a massive upgrade)

I ended up ordering the Pro's from Lightwerks (15% off for Black Friday!!).

Based on the pics on this thread and everyone's experience I was so stoked. But today I went to the Daniel Stern Lighting website and read his article "What Good are Fog Lamps, Really?" Uh oh....... the data doesn't support an increase in safety with the fog lights.

"If you increase the foreground light (such as by turning on the fog lamps), your pupils react to the brighter pool of foreground light by constricting, which in turn substantially reduces your distance vision"

I followed up reading his article on Driving in the Real World.

His final thoughts on Fog Lights - "The best three things you can do with your front fogs: Turn ‘em off, leave ‘em off, and forget they exist"

My lights will arrive on Friday, but I am not sure I will be keeping them.

    Thoughts?

All I know is I turn on the SS3 pro fogs, and I can see a heck of a lot better. Esp on the side of the road which I like a lot - I can now see deer a lot better that might be lingering there & about to cross. Have yet an opportunity to use them in any actual fog - I barely ever have fog in my area. So for my purposes they're great.

Hey guys I’m trying to figure out a lighting upgrade. Trying to decide between swapping my factory fogs for either the pro or max in yellow. Option 2 just run a DD bar(probably 42”) in my bumper.

I drive primarily at night and here in Oregon 6+ months of that is in fog & rain. I read on that TW thread they get hot. Is this a concern if they are on for 30 minutes a trip? 90% of my driving is commuting to work. Half of the trip is on back roads.
I have used BD on multiple other vehicles but just ran across DD recently. Can’t really see spending 800+ for a light bar from them that I’ll barely use. Looks like either of these DD options could work.

What kind of conditions do you drive in? If dust/rain/fog/snow then amber/yellow is the way to go. White reflects off moisture causing the bounce back and Amber doesn’t.

Here is my last Tundra with “fogs” off then on. Clearly they help.

    Not enough....
I just read through this entire thread, and I just want to say you are all jerks, because now I'm $272 poorer.

I couldn't pass up the 15% off on the SS3 amber pros. I have some crappy LED bulbs in the factory housings now, and they are worthless. I was going to go with the sports but I have fantastic HIDs for low beams, so I figured the pros would be a better match.

So in conclusion, you're all jerks. My wife hates you.

You did not want the ss3 Max lights? I got the Pros last year and like them a lot, ordered sports for my wife's suv.
