Does anyone prefer the Sport over the Pro? Or is Pro the way to go?

The ss3 max lights have the most output. I have the pros on my truck and sports on the wife's pathfinder. The maxes were not out yet when I got them.
The pros have a taller vertical pattern and the sports have a tighter pattern. So I figured for the lower to the ground pathfinder the tighter pattern would be better.
There is a huge thread on tacoma world where a member has done a tone of testing on dozens of SAE fog lights. The ss3 max lights are currently the number 1 light, the 4bangers are right behind. The 4 bangers have higher lumen reading in the center but drops of fast to the sides and they have less width to light up the shoulder.

preference from what I hear form people. Some go sport, some pro, some max. All seem happy with any of the choices.

Here's my .02 having fiddled with nearly every product that DD has ever produced....

If you truly need and use the fog light for fog, adverse conditions, etc then I tell people that the pro lights are the best bang for the buck in the lineup. They'll single handedly overpower most OEM headlights by themselves in the foreground, while still keeping light low and wide. If you are just looking for a cool light to be on at all times when you're driving (regardless of color), want to be street legal, and want to get an improvement over stock than sport is a good call. It has a tighter beam so it'll draw less attention from all motorists.

so are the Pro’s gonna be blinding oncoming traffic? I passed a tacoma the other day who had some aftermarket yellow fogs i dunno if they were DD but they were way too bright. Maybe angled wrong or something. I dont want anyone flashing their brights at me or blinding folks lol

Whatever this forum told me to do
mine work great. nobody has yet to flash me.

    I drive in south Houston.

When I installed them, I set them in the lowest down position. they work great.

perfect if you are going to use them a lot.

I got the backlit version for added bling.

I have the Sports and OEM LED headlights.
If you are wanting standard driving fog lights even in wicked thick fog and crap weather the Sports are excellent.
I tend to leave for my Cabin around 0400 and when I get down by the River the fog is generally something serious and this combo is an absolute life saver.

If one needs more lighting beyond typical driving I would take the price difference and put that toward a light bar likely.

I'll make a guess that they were probably something along the lines of a Baja Designs Squadron light in a wide cornering pattern. That used to be the standard issue, high end, fog light replacement. Nowhere near street legal, but you still see them run all of the time on the street. Your lights (unless you don't aim them properly) will not look like that.

I think, cause mine is arriving tomorrow, there is two sets of harness? One small one and one bigger and longer.
What I did on my wife's Pilot was, take the screw off the wheel well and then unplug and un-screw the old lights, remove old lights, put DD SS3 in, screw on and plug the smaller harness in between the light and the original power adapter, you will know why because the backside of the DD is not anywhere close to what the OEM adapter looks like, that's why the harness is there for.
I have not yet have time to aim the fog light, but assuming it does not need so as she has no complaints, yet, might need to take a look at it.
@memario1214 can chime in anything I missed.

Not sure if you still need but I installed my DD pros today and the violet wire out of the park light socket is where I tapped for the amber backlight power!
Also …get ready before you power em up ….:spy:!

No, I have the Pro’s and don’t blind anyone. I pretty much drive with them on constantly at night. Never an issue with oncoming traffic or behind other motorists as of yet. Incredible product IMHO.

You mean the SS3? Easy if you have the right tool and know what you are looking at.
Basically, park your car with tire away from you (per side, working on driver side have the tire pointing toward passenger side, vise versa) unscrew some screws to get the wheel well cover off and then unscrew "one" screw from the original fog light, make sure you don't drop the screw in the dark, take the light out gently, release the cables and then re-install in reverse for the new SS3. Not hard, just pack some patience, as the wheel well area can be a pain in the behind to work with for some with bigger arms, but generally took me maybe 10 mins per side? My biggest issue was actually getting the plastics back in place all line up, otherwise OCD will kick in.....
Oh, and depends, you might want to take two bolts out from below the well, just to get it more loosen up to work on. Take your time doing it, and make sure you re-aim it so you don't blind people with it.

Yes very simple, just take your time. Be careful with the black housing that pops into the bumper. I damaged the clip and had to buy a new one.

I watched a few videos on the web which helped but it’s pretty straight forward.

I would also suggest disconnecting the lights prior to putting out. One of the videos I watched did it without connecting first.

And get some good industrial grade zip ties to attach the light to the bumper frame (it will make sense once you see inside). I have ZERO light shakes.
