Anyone seen this Tundra or is the owner on this site ?

Guy did a toyota diesel conversion. Wondered where he got the motor from and how hard it was to convert.

Yea way too much lol. $42k for a complete install. The engine and tranny imported probably cost 3-4k

Good God. 40-42,000.00 for a diesel conversion.

That would take about 40 years to pay for itself.

It fits in the engine bay nicely though.

IF conversation, THEN to electric. Diesel is almost over, here in Europe the days are counted where diesel is allowed due to stupid politicians.

$40,000!!!!! I don't think Dura-burb even charges that much, and IMO you are getting a lot more truck for your money. Dura-burb is a company that converts your Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon/Yukon XL/Denali/Escalade over to the latest Duramax diesel/allison automatic out of a 3/4 or 1 ton pickup truck. Yeah you can get them with a warranty and a hopped up 600hp tune lol.

Electric has a lot of hurdles to overcome, especially as it pertains to reliability, energy storage and recharge. We are a long ways off from having pure EV trucks and 4x4's, where reliability and driving range under load are very important.

Internal combustion engines (including diesels), on the other hand, are just getting started: opposed piston designs, Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI), Pre-mixed Charge Compression Ignition (PCCI) are just a few designs (some of which aren't all that new) that promise greater horsepower delivery along with much better efficiency.

Diesel will continue to benefit from these newer designs, and when coupled with a hybrid EV motor, will offer very good efficiency and low pollution.

The Europeans are saying they'll ditch diesel because many of their cities are smogged up; they incentivized diesel vehicles but were slow to adopt emissions regulations....they dug their own grave on that issue. The newer diesels are much cleaner and still much more efficient than are gasoline engines. They're not going away anytime soon, at least for trucks, SUV's and offroad vehicles/equipment.
