It really just depends what each dealer has lined up as far as deposits go. I got 20 Tundras on my last allocation and 15 of them were given to waiting customers. The other 5 just had packaging that didn't line up with my customers needs so I'm trying to move them fast. When you see a heavy discount, dealers are trying to move them fast because you don't want to be showing inventory sitting or else Toyota sends you less vehicles on the "cutoff" dates. Once that date passes and they are still sitting on them, they probably moved the price back up.

Trust me when I say that's not true at all. Toyota has made it extremely clear they want to produce as many units as possible. The problem is that they are willing to sacrifice the higher trim levels/hybrid models to preserve chips so that they can make more lower model/2wd vehicles. CAT's last allocation was 5316 total vehicles which is not bad at all.

Wow, thanks for the insite on that.... When are these cutoff dates? Every dealer have a unique one or is it set by region?

If the truck hasn't been delivered, it's going to be harder to get a deal. A dealer risks very little by waiting to get the deal they want before it arrives. Trucks sitting on the lot are a different story.

For my region, there's a mid-month cut and end of month cut. I know some of the other regions are very different though. The post above is correct though, if something is on ground, it's more likely they will work with you on the price a little. If they are still one of the dealers charging ADM, they are a shit dealer anyways.

Crap. This is exactly what happened. Finally got my spec sheet and the predator steps aren’t on there anymore, which is a bummer

Same with my trd steps. I am ok with that because I can get them cheaper or wait for electric steps to be released for not much more money.

Easy enough to add after. Pretty sure they are an NFab step that Toyota adopted.

lol Toyota says that because 2022 orders still havent been fully fulfilled and now consumers are getting themselves moved into a 23 model year (hope their dealers dont just charge the $1750 increase - the F150 powerboost customer special order folks all got bent outta shape over this and got Ford to do a massive price rebate for the selling dealers)

I saw some video or read a article a few weeks back that said back in Oct/Nov Toyota texas plant was slowing down Tundra's and it wasnt what they wanted to do but had to be done for supply chain issues.

If you dont believe me, ask the ppl who still dont have a tundra who has placed a order way back in 2022, will they be getting 2022 pricing or a 2023 pricing? My guess prolly since Toyota doesnt do customer orders, they all get bent over and taken with no lube and forced to pay the 2023 new price increase

I guess around my geographic area we have a bunch of sh*t dealers, lol Then looked at one dealer in PA (York) and they dont sell to folk outside their area... Suppose I get it. They want to sell to people for the long term service or something.

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
That’s not an efficient or cost effective way to utilize a huge factory. All automotive manufacturing plants are designed to return the best possible revenue vs cost of operation at 85% + capacity. The higher the better. Manufacturers aren’t going to let plant capacity sit idle and effectively cost them money being tied up in equipment and facilities not being used. At least they won’t if there are enough parts and workers to make cars and trucks, the power grid works, and customers will buy them.

We are already starting to see this with other brands as inventory has started to catch up. The dealers might like holding more gross profit, and not want the inventory but as part of their franchise agreements they have to take it. The manufacturer usually contributes towards the dealers floor plan costs, and the flip side of that is they can’t refuse inventory.

they are just discounting inventory on the lot. I just bought one for 3k off that they said has been there less than a week but have 3 others same spec at msrp that haven’t arrived yet. finance guy said they don’t get as many allocated if they are showing inventory on the ground.

No mark-up on my 1794 Hybrid with Off Road in FL. They're only marking up Pro and Capstone still.

Currently, just tinted windows. Looking to change out the grille and swap wheels and tires.
Nice! I bought one in MD. Picking it up on the 24th. Did they have any dealer add-ons, like Tint, door edge guards and such? Let others know which dealership. I saw another guy in FL looking for one without a markup.

As I was stalking my incoming Tundra, I noticed the dealer spec sheet had a MSRP of $69,420. I built the same exact spec online and the numbers were not matching. In my confusion, that is when I noticed the MSRP on the Toyota Webside dropped to $68,520. I think the OP is correct in that MSRP seems to have dropped about $1K. I would like to believe the dealer did not "doctor" the MSRP on the toyota provided spec sheet. I would imagine if they were going to tack on the extra money, they would be more transparent. I could be wrong though.

No way dude. Are you on the No Markup Toyota group on Facebook? I’m north Florida, I’ve found Panama City toyota, Peter boulware toyota, and Thomasville toyota at msrp but with some SET non sense dealer adds. $2k for example for what I have coming in.

My dealer tried the $2k markup as their premium package. I asked what it was and the description was a word for word copy of the $699 Toyo package on the sticker. I said remove it and they came back it was only a tint job which they dropped to $795

I sell all my vehicles at MSRP including PRO’s. It’s MSRP + 449 doc fee + your state taxes/fees. Right now i have around 12 people on the wait list. We are located 40 minutes east of Pittsburgh. I’ve helped a couple guys on the forum get trucks so far. PM me if you have any questions.

It’s sort of impossible for me to give you a date. there are so many variables such as production and how many my dealership gets (we are a larger truck store though). I’d speculate it could be 2024 though.

Thanks for the replies. I have found a few dealers outside the Toyota Southeast Distribution to avoid a the non Manufacturer add ons, as well as the over sticker gouging.
