I’ve been watching my incoming truck on the dealer website. Last night it was 70,500 or something like that. I look this morning and now it is 69,500. Anyone else see this? I am supposed to take delivery next month, so I assume that if prices drop between now and then, I would pay the lower price?

Was it the MSRP or just their listed price? The market is cooling so the dealers may be starting to offer discounts.

They’ve always had MSRP crossed through and you could contact them for “their price”. Last night 70k crossed through, today 69k crossed through

Is it a sr5? I seen the market in certain regions flooded with sr5 and have seen dealers drop them below msrp. The higher trims are still trickling in but can be had at msrp.

Nice…hopefully your dealer will slash the 1k off msrp for you.

I've got the same isssues here in NY (Long Island) Local dealers are not doing MSRP on Platinum trim easily. Best I could get is 2k markup over msrp. Tried in NJ, best I can find is 2k over and a few dealer addons (bed mat, mud flaps)

All I want to get is a darn Platinum Blueprint.... base one is fine with me. These dealers dont even want to take orders but just go with whatever is allocated. Wanted to even go to PA for a truck... Got replies from dealers basically saying they only wanted to sell to locals.
Looked at Connecticut.... 2k or more over. Guess the north east hasnt caught up to the rest of the states?

Currently, just tinted windows. Looking to change out the grille and swap wheels and tires.
In Southeast, at least in Florida, Hybrids still have Markups. Same in mid-atlantic in the DC Metro area.

I’m purchasing from a South Georgia dealer (I live a few minutes away in Florida) with no markup other than the $2k dealer addendum they put on all new cars. There are several dealers around me at msrp with no markup outside of 1500-2000 new purchase addendums

Isn't that still a markup...or is the dealer tossing in something to make up for the ADM?

I’m of the same thinking as you, def should be considered a markup. It’s the usual tint, exterior/interior protection etc. that’s why I was calling out that there was no additional market adjustment shenanigans on top of that

Dealer addendum is also considered a markup. Even if they add a couple of things. Usually those items cost them very little and they have a huge mark-up built in. .

Also have to account for rarity of configuration. With Southeast Toyota you can see the predicted inventory for next 90 days or so. There is a total of 3 configured the way I want within 250 miles.

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
Same here. Local dealer has no new Tundras in stock.

They didn’t do ADM bullshit though, so they’re booked out like 9 months on orders.

All of the dealers here that were under msrp last month are now at msrp. Go figure.

Wouldn't say MSRP is dropping just the listed price. In Dallas they had some of the 3rd gen Pros running for $100k+ but looks like the prices are coming down. Of course they've still got ADMs but that seems to be the norm in this market.

Which sucks because by the time it arrives the MSRP has gone up twice and your trade is worth less.

Todays market is a catch 22 in getting screwed.

Exactly why I’m pulling the trigger now. Also about to offload my ‘15 TRD DCSB Taco with 67k miles while I can get a little more for it. The delta just gets bigger the longer I wait

We just got our allocation last night. I have 2 black SR5 Crewmax 4x4 with convenience package now in the pipeline (no leather though). I would still take $2000 off if you interested.

I'd guess it's something like what happened with my Taco. A port accessory or two is in short supply and has been dropped from the build. The price reflects that accessory removal.

So from your perspective are Platinums getting discounted anytime soon? Or is it just a matter of it being moved when in stock?

Best I was able to do for me is a Jan/Feb allocation with about 1750 extra going to the dealer pockets. Ugh

Similar thing happening here. One dealer was $3-3,800 below msrp just a few weeks ago. I even called and confirmed it. Same trucks on the lot are now just $1,000 below msrp.

Another dealer was $2-2,500 below msrp. Now some of the same rigs are 500-1,000 below msrp.

I think maybe dealers are finally seeing the slower production schedule/units from Toyotas Oct/Nov reducing the overall production on gen3. Less units for sale = markup

Tbh I think the auto industry will continue go to business model like this, buy/preorder/wait in line. Gone are days of acres and acres of new vehicles sitting in lots. They control the supply vs consumer demand.
