There a plan after pancakes or just getting together for breakfast? Might make the trek down for an all day something-or-other.

I was going to short-circuit your trip up on Sunday and bring the equipment with me if something was going on Saturday.

The only place I know of is Bridgeport OHV park, but it's a solid hour+ away.
I'm a recent transplant to the area, @4x4_Angel might know of some good spots though.

Hmm, I was thinking that if I came down that it would save you the trouble of having to drive after working all night. But if you're not sleeping Saturday before work then it's kind of going to be crappy either way lol. I can come down another time when something bigger is planned.

If it's just breakfast I'll go to sleep after....no point in killing myself 2 days inn a row.

If we plan a day out at the Bridgeport OVH I would want to go with someone who has been before since I've never been.

The DFW metroplex is pretty big. For those on the western outskirts, Bridgeport isn't too far away. For me, though, it's far enough away that the OHV park in Gilmer (north of Tyler), is almost the same distance (2 hours away). Gilmer's trails, though, aren't that well suited to our Tundra's long wheelbase. Neither are the Bridgeport trails, but last time I was at Bridgeport their "easy" trails seemed less tight, although pinstriping was just as common at both. It could've been the trees and vegetation at Gilmer that gave that optical illusion, though. Otherwise, no other legal place to wheel near the DFW area that I know of.

Ugh, just spent a bunch of time and a few bucks getting all the redneck pinstriping out from the last run thru narrow paths. I think I'm gonna have to Rhino coat this thing at some point!

Thanks for setting these up and getting the local group more active again! I like the idea of meeting up for mods (we used to call them wrench-a-thons, aka WATs). Gives us a better chance to learn about our trucks and what works or doesn't work. I've turned a wrench or two and ended up with my fair share of rounded bolts and slag burnt booger welds with other groups and vehicles. But now that I'm middle-aged and out of shape, an August WAT may be too hot for my whiney self.

Could do weekday breakfeast ( no I didn’t misspell breakfeast) when not traveling, but weekends are a no-go with family commitments/vacations in August.

Getting tint and audio squared away this month as well. Then I just need to get my new bumpers!

What do you use to buff out pinstripes? I've tried cleaner wax with mixed success.

I've been off-roading off and on for over 20 years, albeit on mostly easy trails. Despite that, my off-roading skills haven't improved much. I've managed to pinstripe smaller and narrower vehicles like an old Willys and a 1st gen Tacoma even on the easy trails. With an oversized Tundra, knowing my limitations and with youthful bravado long gone, I've wussed out and only driven the Tundra on the main dirt roads and 1 diamond trails with my young son on my lap handling the steering wheel. For now, we focus more on the camping aspect at the OHV parks and pretend to be overlanding wannabes when we explore dirt roads at Big Bend or the Santa Fe Nat'l Forest, both of which are about 10 hrs away.

When varying grits of polishing compounds won't take them out you have to get into wet sanding. I wrote a post about it somewhere.
