Leaving for North Carolina on May 1st. Towing a 2016 Keystone Bullet dry weight around 5800lbs and 31' bumper to ball. Have a good WD Hitch and Sumo Springs to help with the sag. Stopping in Salina Ks on day 1 then moving on to a winery in Fulton Mo for one night. Here's where I have some questions. I'll be going to Nashville for 2 nights before I head to Carolina Beach State Park in North Carolina. What can I expect leaving Nashville and heading into the hills of Tennessee and North Carolina? Is it a tough drive? Is there an alternate route to choose. I've done a lot of driving around Colorado and the southwest but have been warned that the southeast is no picnic. Any thoughts?
Thanks, this is my first post on Tundra's but have been following for a few years.
I'll post some pic's of my rig next week.

The Hills are just that, hills compared to almost anything around Colorado that I have driven and we have property on Gunnison and Longmont and I have towed all over Co, and also where you are headed.

Why would you stop in Salina?
    Relatives or friends?

Are you camping along the way too?
If staying in a Hotel in Salina they are much nicer if you drive away from I-70 and into Salina and there is also a lot more to eat and shop for there and it is only like 6 miles off of the Highway too and all Highway to get there and back..

As long as you take it easy in the Mountains you should be fine I think.

Stopping at the KOA right off of I70. Just need to stop for the night. Planning on getting up early the next morning and heading out to Mo. We'll be camping along the way. Leaving home, Highlands Ranch, on 5/1 and arriving in Carolina Beach on 5/6. I guess not too much compares to some of the Colorado passes. I've towed my TT over most of them and never had a problem. By the way, love Gunnison, fished the river and also boated on the Blue Mesa. Great part of the state.

The hills in the southeast typically don’t have the long long grades like you have out west. They change back and forth rapidly in my experience, ie 5-7% up, then down with curves. I believe you’ll be on I-40 leaving Tennessee and going to Asheville, NC. There is a section there that is quite entertaining in that it is curvy, hilly, and most people are flying through it.
Take your time, watch your speed and you will be fine.

Make sure you have a good and dependable trailer brake controller, watch your speed, and try to avoid any major cities during rush hour.

How was the trip? Beach should be nice right now. Rain passed through Charlotte this morning and now it's a little gusty and in the high 60's with low 70's and sun tomorrow.
