The previous owners had this pointless God awful deck in the front of the house and we have an issue with rain water drainage since we are on a downhill slope. They tried to set some sort of flexible drainage pipe up underneath the deck but it was frequently getting clogged with dirt and debris. I'd have to go out and run a broom handle up in there during rain storms. Forget it.

We are planning to do a French drain to eliminate the headaches. This was the progress made before a monsoon hit so now I'm indoors waiting it out.

Today I re-purposed the deck wood into a lawnmower ramp/deck that will allow me to get the mower to the front yard. My friend's trailer is temporarily taking up the slab next to my garage so this ramp is needed to get the mower to the front for mowing. It isn't meant to be permanent but it is quite sturdy.

Didn’t even clear all the vegetation, and no weed barrier and rocks around the drain…

Astute observation good sir. I'll be sure to put forth a hearty effort in rectifying all of that and hopefully gain your approval afterwards.
