Dealer pricing question: Are all TRD Pro Tundras marked up over MSRP??

Just wondering if those here can tell me if I can expect to pay over MSRP on a '19 TRD Pro Tundra ???

Are there dealers that don't mark up TRD Pros ???

I'd be willing to fly out one way and pick her up....

Every dealer here in San Diego does 5-10k over MSRP. I’ve heard of folks getting them at (and even under??) MSRP. Not sure where they are located though. I “almost” traded my truck for a 19 Pro last week. They offered to cut the mark-up in half to only $2500 but I still couldn’t do it. That and the fact that Pros don’t qualify for Toyota’s 1.9% financing killed it for me. I’ll keep my beautiful cement limited and build it how I want...
Of course I’ll always have a tiny bit of Pro envy when I see them on the road :)

Just depends where you are and how badly they need the sale.

Relatively easy to find at MSRP, but even at that price it's a tough sell for me when even the upper trims have good discounts

Wow, thanks everyone for their input.
I guess I can dream of one and make an offer at the end of the year this month if a dealership gets desperate ???

Come on over. One in my town for 52k and another one 100 miles away for 53k. All are listed at MSRP plus whatever extras are on them like side steps, mats, etc

Pro’s were almost 8K over MSRP in the metro Atlanta area this summer. I wanted one. ut could not justify. Maybe you’ll have better luck the last 2-3 days of this month

Toyota Carlsbad is where I picked mine up a few years back with no mark-up. They said at the time they never mark up any of theirs cars. Not sure if that was BS or not, but I can tell you I paid MSRP.

Correct. Most people would remove the stock steps, floor mats, etc. and upgrade anyway.

You can find dealers that won’t charge markup. I’m in California, dealer 15 mins from me one direction typically adds 5-10k over MSRP while another 15 min the other direction doesn’t. I ended up having to go to the Bay Area to find mine but paid MSRP.

I looked at Toyota Carlsbad as well. They have one right now with “no mark-up”. But they’ve added 8k worth of dealer add-ons so the MSRP is around $58K. They are always my first choice though. That’s where I’ve bought my last three Toyota’s including my current truck and the Wife’s highlander.

Which is what I tried to do but they wouldn't take off the truck or the price. So no trade in yet.

Unless traveling far distances, I'd call and give benefit of the doubt. Sometimes they use stock photo untill truck is on the lot and time for photos. Plus can verify with the vin# if listed.

It's definitely a Pro. I drive by there on my way to/from work every day so I've seen it daily for the past week or so. It's a sharp truck.

Makes me appreciate the 500 under MSRP I gave for mine. That and they gave good money for my trade in. Being doing this for awhile and didn't get shafted for trade difference. In Ct you have to pay 7.75% instead 6.35% sales tax on any auto purchase over 50K. That's on the entire purchase and not just the portion above 50k. The original price was 51,250 with 20k trade in. I told them to mark the truck down to 49,250 and show 18k trade in. They hemmed and hawed and after they called the manager he without hesitation said go ahead. Saved me another 700.00. I reserved the truck back in July with a no money deposit, been doing and sending them business for close to a decade. They didn't do any add ons. I bought the Toyota 125k/10 year warranty for 2600. (I know, I've read the threads poo-pooing extended warranties) but the Toyota warranties are the crem dela crem and figured for 5% of the total cost of the vehicle, for me it was a sound investment. The finance guy is a good friend and said they list for 3600.00 but the dealership pays 2100.00. Bought the wheel and tire protection insurance for 5 years for 500.00. Normally it's a grand. Toyota wanted 5.2% interest on my 800+ credit. Went with a local credit union for 3%, the dealership finance guy set me up with. The old truck was on my business insurance this one is on my personal policy and my annual premium went from 2500 to 780. Tried to register it in Vermont to not have to pay personal property tax yearly on it but the insurance Company was very specific and I still have a CT drivers license, Not worth risking them denying coverage. The dealership I go to is one of the largest in the region, they still have not had another one allocated to them as of a couple of weeks ago.

If you are still in the market for one, Contact Ian at Rice Toyota tell him the Guy who bought the Cement 17 sent you. I promise he will give you the best deal you can get. When I bought mine a guy from Ca, bought one online and flew out to drive it back.

Got ya, when I found mine it was still wrapped in plastic (inside and out) in the back of the lot so the dealership had just received it and didn't have time to do anything I'm assuming. I just happened to be looking at the trucks they had in the back for the right trim/package when I stumbled across it. Wasn't even looking for a pro, but here we are lol

Forgot to mention earlier, best bet is probably to find a dealer that doesn't charge markups, put in a deposit for a future allotment for them and then wait. I waited several months for mine to come in. I'm guessing majority of places that have one on the lot already that hasn't been spoken for are charging a markup...or else it wouldn't be on the lot :)

I wish they still made them in the cement color. I’m sure I’d pay the mark-up if they did :)

Got mine in South Carolina ~$3k under MSRP out the door. Took some time and contacting a bunch of dealerships, but I eventually had 3 (2 SC and 1 NC) willing to do the price...but only one that had a truck to sell me (the others were trying to find a dealer trade to get the truck).

There was a time that you could in DFW area. That was on 2017s. When I had my Tacoma Baja the local game warden stopped and talked to me. I thought I was in trouble for not fully draining my boat. He said "oh no" I just want to talk about your Taco. He said he just picked up a Tacoma Pro for $3k under MSRP. I talked to the same dealer about a Tundra and they would not budge off MSRP. The problem then was they did not have one in their possession and Tundra Pros were getting scarce. I could have got one under MSRP when I bought my Tundra but it was cement and I wanted white. Also did not want to take a bath changing out the Michelins. I think the reason Toyota did not offer a 2018 Pro was they wanted to hype up the demand for the 2019s.
