Anyone had a dealership beeline or put a remote start on your Tundra?

I found the remote start online for $340 shipped but then would need to get it installed.
Want to keep it with the OEM parts.

    • Manufacturer:Toyota
    • Part Number T398-34150
    • Part:REMOTE ENGINE STARTER

DON'T do it...it sucks big time.. because it only works when you are 5 feet away from the car and you must push 5 billions times (in the right sequence) for it to work..

Get an aftermarket 2-way remote starter/security alarm system for about the same price.

Dealer's spray on bedliner is usually pretty thin and not as good as Line-x. And they outsource it anyways so it's not really OEM. Major complaint about factory remote start is that it turns off the engine when you open the door.

I recently had a Viper remote start installed in mine, and it works far better than the reports of the factory unit. The retail price for the unit, the extra module that's necessary on the Tundra, and the installation was barely above what you're seeing for the unit alone. I did a little haggling and got it for a little less. Go with the Viper, you get a quality alarm along with the deal.
