So between running the roads for work, and fishing and hunting i put about 50k miles a year on my trucks.

My 2017 f150 had 150k on the clock and was acting pretty tired so I sold it last week and got a 2021 CrewMax Trail special edition.

the f150 had kings all the way around and Baja Kits upper control arms by Brenthal.

I loved it, but I just it through hell and didn't know how much longer it was going to hold up to my high mileage.

Here's a pic of the old one.

    IMG_7912.jpg

    So far I have installed:

    Method 313 gloss titanium 17x 8.5 +25
    Toyo MT 35/12.5.
    Rando Amazon 3" spacer.

    I've ordered:

fox 2.5s custom tuned from accutune offroad.

    I'm Debating:

    Control Arms
    Rear Leafs
    Exhaust
    Katskins
Front Bumper vs vinyl wrap (hate chrome lol)

Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of the new one while it was stock, here is how she sits now.

Last Friday I came home from out of town to a shipment from method race wheels, so I loaded them up and went to get them wrapped in new toyosIMG_8028.jpg

I went with Method 313s because I wanted +25 offset and I'm a weight wheenie. I like Bronze enough that I almost went with the 701 anyway. But the Gloss Titanium pops in person. Pictures don't do it justice.

So 35x12.5 with a +25 offset were rubbing quite a bit with a 3" spacer. So I got to "adjusting" to get rid of the noise.

I haven't done a CMC yet. I just took off the mud flaps, front lower fender liners and pulled the front bumper forward and re bolted the bottom using the two 13-14mm bolts that hold the lower fender liner, and end caps to the mounting bracket. (didn't bother loosening the top, just flexed the bottom out.

So far since doing this I've had no rubbing, haven't off roaded much yet, so that may change.

    @jalam321 sure is.

I live on the North Side of Houston but frequent the coast.

Normally we hang out on bolivar because that's where I hunt and fish most of the time, but my daughter wanted to ride the farris wheel on pleasure pier for her birthday.

I haven't run matagorda in years, before I had boats we used to Shark fish off the beach down there all the time.
I was running a 2wd sierra back then, that beach made me ditch my blocks, 20s and 35s for fox 2.5s, camburg UCA, and 17s with 33" grabbers.
I need to get back down there sometime.
Do you know if they are still keeping you from surfing near the jetties?

Nice truck - and that's a hell of a lot of driving for 3 years! And I can confirm that the F150 wouldn't have held up that well for much longer....at least mine didn't. LOL

Thanks, @Kung I put em through alot of abuse, I bought my tundra 12 days ago and its close to 2k miles already!

That F150 was on its 3rd front end rebuild and second shock rebuild. It stalled out on me in Hurricane traffic leaving Louisiana, I didn't know what was wrong but I traded it in for the the Tundra before I found out lol.

The way I drive suspension repairs are my own fault. But a fuel injected engine that stalled out at idle scared me.

thanks @jewsNbrews I like what you did with the floor in back for the labs.
I have to leave seats in so the midgets car seats can go in and out if the back, but I was thinking about doing something like that to make the floor flat so I could slide my labs kennel inside the cab.
Took her to South Texas to dove hunt last week and I had to use some bumper plates from my garage gym to level the kennel out.

It works great. I actually made them as 2 separate platforms so I could add a seat section back in if needed. Went hunting with 2 buddies a few weeks ago and was able to put the small seat section in and leave the larger platform in for storing hunting equipment inside the truck and secured while we were in the field. You could make something similar for your hunting trips. Takes about 5 minutes or less to swap them out. It's 4 bolts each section. Seats are rather light and easily removed/added back in as needed.

The kennel fits well with the seats folded up, so I doubt I'll bother unbolting them.

I was going to permanently mount a flat platform, but Making a removable one makes more sense.

Had a couple of Buddies over, Drank a couple beers and put the shocks in last night.

Went for a test drive after on a really washed out washboard road after. At low speed (10mph)
They are firm, planted, but in no way jarring. At speed (50-faster than I should admit to) They were insanely good, always had good ground contact and steering input, but seemed to float over all the big holes.
On road they are firm but not harsh and got rid of all the body roll, which is fantastic since I tend to forget I'm in a full size truck and not a drift car every time it rains.

@AccuTune Offroad knocked it out of the park on these and I can't wait until the rears come in

Wow, yeah you must work yours harder than I worked mine!

I will say the F150 never left me stranded, and the issues I had were all relatively small (issue with SuperCab driver's side rear door staying latched; media system issues; truck vibration at highway speeds; etc.). However, what struck me is that they sort of just...had no solution. I mean, in a SuperCab, the front door latches onto the rear door...so if the rear door latch fails, your doors can fly open. LOL Ford's answer?

"Uh, we're not sure, we've never seen this." (Despite seeing tons of reports on each of these issues on forums.)

Mine stalled out on me a few times, but always started up again. The only other issue I had was with the media system. I've taken the tundra front end apart twice now, it is put together MUCH better than my f150 was.

    Thanks @HulkSmurf14

@Bronzeback I'd be lying to you if I told you what tune I went with. I want to say Dual Sport, but I didn't order online and click a specific tune.

I called and talked to Alex,
    1. About my current/planned truck set up (wheels, tires, other suspension work, and weight changing mods like bumpers ect)
    2. How I use the truck (tons of work miles, plenty of terrible roads, towing boats to hunt and fish on the weekend.)
    3. How I drive the truck, (Don't break for anything, whether its a corner, set of train tracks, or washed out section of road. Plus slide every corner I can)
    4. And how I wanted the truck to handle.

After that I just let them do their thing.
I got lucky and they had one set of non adjustable fronts left, they had them tuned and to my door step in Texas in less than a week.

I've run factory Fox 2.5s on one Truck, and Factory Kings on another truck. These are my favorite so far.

Got distracted from the truck. Duck season was coming up, had water getting into cyl 3 on my outboard, took it apart to rebuild it and found a crack in the block, waiting for a new power heard to come in now...

Put the first pile of ducks in the new truck this weekend.

And new parts came in today. (guessing this is just shackles and bushings or something. I'm not at home and that doesn't look big enough to be a full pack of springs lol. (parts underneath it are for boats)
