I am looking to fabricate a custom grill guard for my 2014 Limited Crew Max. I know a aftermarket bumper would also be an option but there isn't one that I like. Same goes for current grill guards on the market. Bull bars don't offer enough protection. I have found a couple of pictures and am considering make a hybrid of them all. Any thoughts or suggestions?

But I have always liked the look of this guard since I seen the pictures.

A little of this and a little of that.
I think you should go for it. I kinda like the last one you posted up. Without the part that blocks the Toyota emblem. You may know that my dad and I built my bull bar from scratch cause I didn't like my options either. Good luck brother!!

My suggestion is make it nice and beefy so if you get in a wreck it doesnt just fold into the grill and cause more damage. Maybe some extra support bars that go through the grill and attach to the frame higher up.

True.. I've been lookin at those smitty bull bars.. lol. I think if you hit something it's going to fold up and be in your grill for sure.. 2 bolts and 1/8 of an inch of metal is all that holds that thing upright..

I only want the centre guard. Not paying to get a full guard and then start cutting off pieces. Looks good with the grey.

    I received the brackets yesterday.

Multiple attachment points to the frame/ behind the bumper. Not worried about it folding up.
Just need to fabricate what I want the guard to look like.

Mine mounts at 4 points so it is incredibly solid. This is the second truck I have bought them for. Carid.com is where I bought them and I think it was $522 out the door including shipping. Best deal I found for them.

I live in Canada and the best deal I could find was $850 before shipping.

Still worth it in my opinion. They are the best bars I have ever come across.
