Someone north of Atlanta has a DC on Craigslist right now w/65k miles, nicely optioned with leather etc. and a lot of features for 16,000k.

    https://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/cto/d/marietta-2006-tundra-crew-cab-miles/7363956223.html

Tailgate is damaged, easily swapped, it's 2WD which kinda sucks, but otherwise looks great.

Well before all this coronavirus stuff took place, I was shopping 2005-2006 Tundra DC's on craigslist . . . on any given day there was usually 2 full pages to choose from here in So Cal. Now there is barely 1 page listed at any time, and the prices have increased SIGNIFICANTLY.
Pre-China-Sniffles a super clean DC with under 100K miles usually had an asking price of around $17K on the high side. Now when 1 comes up, I see them asking between 23K-25K . . . I'm thinking because the price of new trucks is so outrageous, people are hanging on to what they have for a few more years, hoping things will settle down. Not sure how much the 'chip shortage' has had an effect, but maybe some.
Another thing I thought was interesting, there's a very good auto tech shop by me, he said he's busier now than he has ever been. Maybe people are deciding to fix their cars rather than taking on a new payment during these uncertain times.

But what do i Know, just speculation.

Been wondering about that chip shortage impact on the 1st gen's. Cant speak for most but I don't have many computer chips in mine, less silicone, less issues. I know the demand for 4x4 is through the roof right now.

Also been hearing about shops getting floored with people catching covid and all of a sudden there are no more techs to work. Happened at 2 places down around my dwelling area.

Ha ! . . . . What I meant by the chip shortage was that I'm hearing there isn't much new truck inventory due to the chip shortage . . . so maybe some people are hanging on to their 1st gen's till things clear up.

You totally read that wrong. It said "emergency break". Thats when you have an emergency and you break shit. Totally valid. That truck offers rock solid services, he wouldn't lie.

Wonder if he would sell just the console.

I've seem quite a few like this since I bought mine. People can ask whatever they want. It's the idiot that buys it for an absurd amount that makes the difference

I got a 2006 SR5 DC with 44k miles for $12K. One owner. It's in New England so I was worried about frame rust but all good. Needed new tires, timing belt, water pump.

I just bought a 2000 4WD with 140k miles for 10k. It’s more than I wanted to spend but the best I could find in that price range.

Still for sale as of today. Guess not many people are interested at that pricetag, especially for a repaint. Wonder what they may be hiding? :D
