CRV maintenance/tires?

    Girl just bought a 2010 V6 4wd CRV as a companion vehicle for her 07 4.7 tundra. CRV has ~100k on it and needs tires.

    Any advice from CRV owners as to maintenance to be done (aside from brakes, shocks, and fluids) or a good 50/50 tire/alternate tire size that works well on these.

    Sorry for my ignorance, just not a platform I’m familiar with.

    We have one. Great car. I’d replace the tires with whatever’s on it.

    I would consider a tranny drain and fill, diff drain and fill.

    We have a 10 CRV 4cyl that we bought new and has 135,000 miles on it now. It is a very easy car to maintain. The rear diff needs a drain and fill every 30,000 or you will hear a clunking noise on turns and such.

    The differentials take a special fluid from Honda. The capacity is so small, just pay the cost of the Honda fluid.

    ours had a slight shutter between 20 and 35 mph in the transmission. I ordered a case at Honda ATF and did three drain and fills problem solved.

    what kind of shocks are you going to use? Ours are probably going to be due for replacement in a year or so and I’ve been looking around a little bit trying to decide.


    I had to replace a rear wheel bearings not too long ago that was noisy. Other than that, it’s been pretty fool proof so far. Bernardini Honda is the best price I found for parts online.

    I have 218,xxx miles on my 2004. Replaced 1 alternator, 1 O2 sensor, 1 knock sensor, and the brakes. Have done fluid changes, as well as tires and batteries when necessary. Been a fantastic daily driver. Definitely use the correct Honda fluids and it'll run forever.

    Wasn't aware it needed serviced. My 2004 has 218K and hasn't been touched. Had it since mile #1. Believe it or not, my AC has never been charged or had anything done to it and it still blows as cold as the day we bought it. I know there were many issues with the compressor on these.
