This was a splurge for me but I went ahead and pulled the trigger. I will report it works as advertised. I am amazed and depending on how long the resin lasts, it might be golden. Rinse through the unit and no drying. It is expensive so that is why I wrote splurge but for me, but it is well worth the $$$. Just wanted to share. Please ask me any questions. I'm no expert but willing to share my experiences. Thanks

How often do you change the resin? Also, I bought the conversion kit where you toss the filters and just fill the blue tubes with resin which allows you to fill more resin and it is a more efficient systems to it last longer. I haven't used it yet but will post reply later on my impressions.

So do you wash and rinse thru the unit - or just rinse thru the unit?

I have quick disconnects on my pressure washer snd the water supply...a T connector actually. I only run the rinse cycle through the CR Spotless. I guess you could be more careless if you did everything through the CR but that would cost me more than I’m willing to pay.

The same company, CR Spotless, now also sells a "Double Chuck" system rated for 400 gallons (msrp $400) , compared to their DIC-20 (300 gal, msrp $430).
    https://crspotless.com/product/double-chuck-dark-blue/

I take all these gallon capacities with a grain of salt, it is so dependent on your water supply's TDS (total dissolved solids). At the very highest TDS (~1000 ppm) I've been reading you may only get 70-80 gal thru a DIC-20 ! :-(

My town's water supply is an average 80:20 mix of surface water (380 ppm) and ground water (890 ppm). But in any given month or month, there's no way to know what I'm getting ... it suppsoedly changes seasonally , maybe even more often.

I like having the meter. I rinsed 4 times and still reading 0.0

You need to watch the meter on the unit as it counts down on the resin efficiency. I have had mine for about a year and it hasn't started counting down yet with resin efficiency. So, can't say for sure how long the resin will last. Depends on often you use it. I think they also have an exchange program on the cannisters and resin which I will probably use when it comes time to replace the resin.

Wow. Glad we have soft water here as I’d hate to have to purchase this thing $$$. Pretty cool set up, though.

I’ll add I picked up an adapter that allows me to do away with the cartridges and just fill up the blue tubes. Holds more resin and can purchase just the resin so should be more cost effective. I haven’t installed the adapter yet as I thought I would just use the cartridges to establish somewhat of a baseline.

I finally got one of these. My wife gave it to me for Christmas. I’ve washed three vehicles so far, and it’s a real game changer. My water is very hard, and in the past it’s been a race to get my truck dry before it started spotting.
My first use was on my black truck, in broad daylight. It worked perfectly. I didn’t have to dry it at all, and it came out beautifully. It may be my imagination, but I believe it was much cleaner than it normally was after washing. I’m thinking that even with my efforts, a slight haze was being left on the truck because of my hard water. It seemed shinier than normal for sure.
Not having to towel dry it cuts the amount of contact with your paint tremendously, so it should greatly reduce swirl marks and such.

It is fairly expensive, but definitely worth it to me. My wife got it when AutoGeek was running a 25% off sale.

I bought a dic-20 this spring to help with water spots on our airplane. I started out using it only for rinse but got lazy as the summer progressed and used it for both. Washed the Miata approximately 4 times, my Silverado 2 times and the airplane about 4 times. The last few washes of the airplane and Miata were completely with the filtered water. Traded for the tundra on Black Friday and have washed it twice and this last go the counter came off zero and went to 2. This is with low pressure well water that has a fair amount of minerals in it. I had to dry the tundra as it had very light spotting. I’d say I put the advertised amount of water through it before it needed resin replacement. It basically got me through a season of washing and I’m ok with that.

Alright, as of yesterday, I’ve apparently gone through my resin already. The meter jumped up to “6” while doing my vehicles. (Good thing I check the meter frequently.) I ended up having to refashion my truck and dry it off, as spots were showing.

That puts me at not quite a month of use on the original resin. Unfortunately, I didn’t count the number of washes I got. I would guess, between the four vehicles I’ve used it on, maybe 10-12?

At first glance, that sounds like poor performance, but there are some factors that need to be figured in:

    1) I’ve used mine for the whole washing process l start to finish. I should have only used it for rinsing, like @4Runner recommended.

    2) The vehicles I use it on include two Tundras, and a Sequoia. Pretty large vehicles, so a lot being used. Considering I usually do all three at the same time, plus my daughter’s Honda HR-V if she’s home, that is 3-4 times as much as if I’d only been doing mine.

    3) My water is ridiculously hard. I don’t have a measurement, but it’s higher than I’ve encountered anywhere else I’ve lived by a high margin.

    4) The pressure washer I have is pretty much the max size this will cover. I believe the unit says not to use a pressure washer that runs more than 2.5 gallons per minute? Mine is 2.3. I’m not positive, but I’d guess that the higher gpm, the more resin is used.

    5) I wash my vehicles a lot more often than most consumers do.

    6) Last weekend my dumbass started pressure washing my driveway after washing my trucks. It took me about twenty minutes to realize I forgot to disconnect the unit. I wasted a ton on that mistake.

I’m looking into the best fit for me as far as buying more resin, or joining their exchange program. I will also be contacting the company to see if they have any tips for me to conserve resin. Obviously, I’m going to switch to only rinsing with the unit, which should at least double my use.

In summary, the resin didn’t last long for me, but I’d say at least half of the blame is mine, especially since I use it really frequently. I’ll do a better job at conserving it in the future, and try to keep a good record of how much use I get.

Wow, Jason, that didn't take long! I was looking into their exchange program when I need to replace my resin.

Yeah, but I’ll be smarter with it going forward. I’ll always use more than most, but I need to make more efficient use.

surprised no one hasn't stepped up and gone with the DI Pro 100. Not that much more plus you can get up to 4k gallons out of it.

That’s the same guy I purchased the adapter to allow me not to is the cartridges in my CR Spotless.
