I was gifted a OEM Tundra Tri-Fold for my 21 crewmax. Went to put the sucker on and could not find the threaded holes! After freakinging out for 30 min and doing some scrambling research, I found it’s common for the holes to be covered by the factory bed liner. I’m guessing the factory is working faster than normal, causing this error.

All I had to do was push on the bump outs in the bed sides to feel for where the hole was and then use a utility knife to cut the liner to expose the holes.

    Anyone else run into this?

    Alot of them
It is fairly common for that to happen when the beds are sprayed. Happens when it's sprayed after purchase as well.

Yes, ran into the same thing when we installed our bed rails to mount our rack. Poked it with a center punch and screwed through the remaining coating with no issue.
