    A bunch
The early season snowfall bad drivers came out just as tradition states. Nice combination of summer tires spinning and creating slick spots, overconfidence in their abilities, and lack of snow removal makes for a fun scene to watch. We get the same thing here in Alberta, I understand getting caught out with bad tires and snow removal when the snow flies in August, but in October everyone should expect it.

People fail to prepare. We get every year at the store, first hard freeze/freezing temps, there is a panic run on heat tape, pipe insulation space heaters etc. As usual we sell out in a day, while more is ordered it can take a week or so to get more in.

During one really bad cold spell with extended temps at or below freezing one guy was having a fit about how everyone in town was sold out of what he wanted, after going on for several minutes another customer said to him hey its not their fault they are sold out its not like the weather reports have not been talking about for a couple weeks now, next time pay attention and prepare for this... LOL I so wanted to bust out laughing but had to maintain my composure, at least till the guy left... LOL.

It's more of a generational / life experience thing, than it is location. I learned to drive back when the mid-west saw many back-to-back heavy snow storms, Blizzards, and extended periods of snow covered roads... driving in those conditions was no big deal for anyone. About the only thing that caused problems was migratory drifting. My snow driving skills have diminished over the years because I haven't had to drive in those conditions for decades, I know how to drive in the snow but it would take some time to bring my skill level up, and I no longer trust other drivers like I once did.

We were encouraged to find an empty snow covered parking lot and get a feel for driving in the snow... I don't think that is allowed anymore. Dirty piles of old snow appealed to some of us back then...

Trying to finish up the stepping stone path to my front door this weekend and next. Got thursday and friday off to finish it up. House is going on the market soon after. I'd like to meet all you Coloradans in a few months.

I'm a former snowboard bum and I've seen my share of terribad winter drivers. I wouldn't have gone out in that without some sort of traction aid or at LEAST 3 peak mountain snowflake tires.

I put the studded winter tires on my truck and The Woman's car yesterday. Won't be long until the chaos begins. Even here in northern Alberta where we have 5 months of winter, the first couple snowfalls end up being a zoo because everyone forgets how to drive in the snow.

I think it’s gotten 100 times worse over the last ten years. It makes me wonder if doing MODs to my truck is worth it. Sooner or later I’m bound to get slammed into. I stay home as much as possible when it snows.

    70 or 71 GTO?

I had a 71 Lemans Sport, god I mis that car, would handle snow and ice like it was nothing at all.... had a 455 with a turbo 400 behind it cruised at 70.

I left Indy and moved to Miami in '84... one of my H.S. buddies sent this street sign to me as a house warming gift. These were all over Indy, and when an emergency was declared all but emergency responders and the like remained home until the all clear was sounded. This law was enforced very well, and it worked.

It was great fun... it had coil-over gas shocks all the way around, police interceptor sway bars front and rear... it handled so freaking well with those fat Eagle GTs. My '07 RCSB is the most affordable modern replacement, but it's about 1000 lbs heavier and falls short in torque by about 150 ft. lbs. lol!

When driving in snow I did have to put the Pontiac in neutral when stopping & stopped, or the rear wheels would continue to spin forcing the rear to come around.

Y'all can keep all that snow. People in VA LOSE THEIR FREAKIN MINDS when it flurries. Inexperienced, unprepared, dangerous, definitely hysterical at times.
