What do you guys think. Should I go with cement mirror caps to go with the cement Tundra or go with black mirror caps. Starting to get rid of the chrome.

Nice! I think that picture shows the answer. Question. Did you order or color match those yourself?

I ordered them from SparksParts color matched. A little pricey but worth it in my opinion. They have a forum discount as well so that helped a little.

Put white on there to make it pop a little. Ok but seriously... it comes down to preference. I like the color match mirror caps and black handles... to each his own.

IMO, color matched always looks better. Plus, since you cant just buy Cement ones, you have to go the extra mile and paint, it will make your truck stand out among the other Cement ones.

Yeah, I was set to order from them and picked up a pair of chromes through here for a good price. So then thought about running them for a while and maybe picking up another set on the cheap and trying to do it myself. I've seen a set of the black ones that were done but not sure of the texture afterwards. Seems chrome would come out better if you could get it to stick.

From what I understand, paint has a hard time sticking to the chrome plating. I’ve seen some members in here “melt” it off with chemicals. Personally, if I would have went that route, I’d probably just have them sand blasted and then painted.

It’s 35% ceramic all around (except windshield). I personally love the look. The pictures make it look a little darker than it really is on the front windows since the sun reflects off the ceramic. The ceramic made a big difference in heat reduction as well.

I went through this same dilemma and ended up with cement mirror caps, but black door handles.

Yeah, the process looked fairly straight forward but involved. I will probably run the chrome for a while and save up some pennies to order from sparks.

Wow, I would have guessed bout 15%. Looks really good. I"ve got 20% on back window, back doors that already had factory tint and actually my front doors had 50% and when the guy tinted my truck he put the 20% on top of the 50% so they are even darker. But mine doesn't look as dark as yours.

Thanks! I guess I should add that the 35% was added over the factory “tint” for all the rear windows so those are pretty dark. Again, it works great for me. Provides privacy and heat reduction but I can still see at night and I’m not getting harassed by local PD for running limo tints, etc.
Also, the ceramic tint% looks a lot different (darker/ reflective) than non-ceramic. I didn’t believe the installer when he suggested 35%. Thankfully he had it installed on his car so I was able to really see it in person first. I was originally planning on going a lot darker. Glad I didn’t!

Guess I'm in the minority, as I like the handles and mirror caps black to provide a bit of contrast. It ends up being just a little too much cement for my taste.

If you follow the link in the OEM thread it says you can get them in cement. For about $80 plus shipping and there's a discount code in that thread as well

Yep that is the way to do it. By the way, people say that it is really easy and there is a video on youtube showing how to swap them, but I had a horrible time getting the new covers on. I'll be doing it again this weekend, because I had a little incident involving my passenger side mirror. :censored:

I thought so too which is why I opted for the black door handles.

If you’re going with black door handles, I’d look for a set of take-offs. I see them posted up for sale all the time since a lot of people go the color matched route.

5F61C964-253C-4B18-B658-E8E0A864E597.jpg I got the mirror caps, 17 pro grill, and unpainted endcaps from cool springs. The paint is not an exact match to the 2018, looks a shade darker. When I had the bumper ends painted the shop had 3 different variants of 1H5 cement on their TOYOTA color wheel. Took them 2 tries to get the bumper ends to match. Going to get the grill, surround, and mirror caps repainted and the insert painted matte black.

My mistake, it was the color matched door handles that aren't available , not the mirror caps. I was thinking neither were available.
