Kinda sucks the leveling kit is my limit on lift. Otherwise it can't sleep in the warm garage. It might fit with a 3-4" lift but I'm too scared to try. I can pull on ramps at this height with no fear.

Thanks! It does run a little better than my Black flex fuel Rock Warrior. Maybe it's the 50k less miles. Or being non flex fuel. But probably because it's super white.

Thanks! $2500 spent so far on repairs and mods. Before it's over I'll look back and think I could have bought a new TRD Pro for what I've sunk in this 08.

Finally got the Rock Warrior grill. Brackets won't be here till Monday. They shipped them with 2 different carriers for some reason. So now I get to sit here and look at this for the weekend but can't install it. Oh well. Guess I'll just have to be patient. It's my Christmas present from the wife.

To my surprise the door bell rang and there sit my brackets this morning! After having a rock warrior the color match is a must! The bottom black plastic needs refreshment to match the center of the grill. Any ideas? 20191221_113000.jpg

In the middle of debadging and wondering if Toyota could have used a bit more to hold this I force 5.7 badge on. I'm afraid it could fall off. My fingers hurt from rolling the glue off.

Rough Country leveling kit, front only. Can't say for sure what height it is. 20x9 +12mm offset Raceline hostage wheels. 305/55/20 Nitto Terra Grappler G2. To be honest I don't like the tire but I love the wheels. Easy to clean and I've never seen them on anything. Can't even find pictures of them online other than a Chevy with them and they are chrome. This is the second set of raceline wheels and I wasn't a big fan of the first ones I had. I bought those used and had to settle due to budget restraints. This go round I got to pick exactly what I wanted and I couldn't be happier with them. There are trucks every where at my workplace and it was important to me to not copy cat them.

Im a fan of the 2nd gens I was going to purchase one when a 3rd gen was offered at a great price. I think they were made better or at least had more oem stuff that are now options or not offered anymore

I just couldn't afford a 3rd gen. For the money it's hard to beat a 2nd gen. I could afford the 3rd gen but we've only had my wife's rx350 for a couple of years and we just bought a house. Had to choose, older truck and no sweat or newer truck and sit at home more. So I bought the older truck and sit at home working on it.

I think I'll take a break from the Tundra and start on the Jeep when I get the handles color matched and the rear bumper. Then just try to keep it clean while I get started on the Jeep project. Was quoted $200 to have the door handles and back bumper professionally wrapped. By the time I buy the vinyl, a decent heat gun, some form of squeegee and mess that up a couple of times I can just pay the man and be done with no worries of it failing in 2-3 months.

195k on mine and its needed a bit of work but nothing major so far. Wheel bearings aren't that big of a deal but they are expensive and alot of labor. Front diff axle bearing as well. Rear main is leaking but thatll wait till warmer weather when I can bounce around in the Jeep for a few days while I tear the truck down.

How did you realize the front bearings were bad? Wobble on some turns noise?
Hey as far as the rear main seal. Buy a bottle AT205 reseal . It’s 10 bucks pour it in and in 500miles the leak will be gone. You will thank me later.

The left front axle had a ton of play right where it goes into the front diff. My rock warrior before this truck had the same failure so I knew just what to do. Replaced the front diff axle bearing with a very well designed bushing from East Coast Gear Supply. When i had the axle out I could spin the wheel bearing with no interference. Found the bearing was starting to go so I replaced both front wheel bearing assemblies with lifetime warranty from NAPA. Heard noise coming from the rear and found rear bearings were bad as well. They are a nightmare compared to the front but I got them changed and a shiny new press in the garage.

I'll avoid the stop leak. I've personally seen entire coolant systems ruined from stop leak and I assume the stop leak for oil is the same. The seal has failed and there's no permanent solution without replacing it. I plan on owning this thing for 10+ years so a rear main seal replacement is my plan. After pulling 2 freightliner transmissions and replacing the clutches in a days time I should be able to handle it. Little different doing it at home on a pickup opposed to a 4 post lift at work with endless supplies and tools but I'll get it. Also considering replacing the starter while I'm at it. I'll have to pull the starter to access the flex plate bolts so why put the original back in with 195k miles on it.

It was alot but I knew about the axle bearing before I bought the truck I had them pull it on a lift at the dealer. The wheel bearings are to be expected with high mileage. I also knew about the oil leak but it's nothing to down the truck over yet.

@Coldjustin I'm a big fan of the wheel and tire set up. I'm guessing they stick out a bit I'll most likely need to go with a +20 to keep mine flush. Hows the rough country lift?

I'd rather go with the Bilstein 5100 setup but the rough country was already on it when I bought the truck so I'm not gonna throw it away. And it does what I need it to. I believe they offer this wheel in +18 offset as well. I'm a little over an inch outside the fender with these tires.

Received a quote for $200 to have the door handles and rear bumper professionally wrapped. He has a great reputation and stands behind his work. Worth it or just remove the chrome from the door handles and paint them and order a painted rear bumper for $200ish. I'd have roughly $250 in painting the handles and buying the painted bumper but my DIY paint may not match or hold up well.
