Going for K&N CAI but Amazon won’t ship because well I live in Cali. Does anyone know of a place here in the LA/SD area that might have them in stock? Or any suggestions on where to get one? And finally is there any other CAI that you guys recommend?

I recommend the one you already paid for when you bought your truck...Stock intake was specifically engineered exactly for our trucks. If you want some extra HP you will probably be very disappointed to find out all you really got is a lot of extra noise, less money in your pocket, and not much more. Just my 2 cents of course, but read up on it before you pull the trigger.

To get a "true" cold air intake, you will need something like Stillen. All others that don't take ambient air from outside the engine comp or fender well is just wasting money.

Factory OEM, it's a true cold air intake.

Yep...OEM and add the SABM and a high flow drop in filter like the AFE Pro Dry S (or something like that).

Check the build link in my signature.
I did the stock air box mod (SABM) on my 2008 and never noticed any difference except a low whistle from that area of the engine bay when I was on the highway.
I added an AFE dry filter and noticed a little more pep (butt dyno measurement) but could never justify dropping $350+ on a CAI. As others have said, the stock one functions as one already and just getting a high flow air filter is gonna accomplish pretty much the same result.

    agreed.
a tundra is better served adding underseat storage or better lighting than blowing it on what could even be negative results

How I increased horsepower and torque on a budget.

DAP tune: 15-20 hp peak gain, and 20-30 low & mid-range power gain with 91 octane.

BAMuffler cat-back with single stock tail pipe: 3 to 10 hp, no loss in low end torque.

Drop in aFe Magnum FLOW Pro DRY S Air Filter: 5 to 10 hp, but only if the exhaust is freed up.

These 3 changes cost me about $1500 and they made a world of difference in how the engine performs... keeping the MAF clean ensures peak performance.

    Curse you Perry the Platypus!
If you MUST get a CAI, I say stick with TRD but the OEM is so well designed I couldn't justify it. Just get a K&N/TRD air filter and maybe the air accelerator from the TRD CAI and call it a day. Also, Rex Kramer is a national treasure.

I worked at Airaid for several years and was involved in the Tundra intake. I can tell you from working on the design, validating the MAF readings on a flow bench and scan tool, and dyno testing the truck that it's a good intake.

Make sure that tube has a gap between the tube and throttle body. Mine did not and broke one of the lower air box mounts before noticing. $$$ mistake
