Could be worse. I got a call from a drunk friend at 2 am who needed a ride home from the bar. I am too nice and got out of bed to give him a ride home in my last Tundra that I just bought that was only a couple of weeks old and he vomited all over in it without any warning at all. The seat belt was also covered in it and when he undid it, it retracted back into the housing with the vomit. I must have cleaned that truck at least dozen times before I finally got that smell out completely. That was the last time that friend called me asking for a ride. I was beyond pissed.

I suggest pulling the seats at a minimum and using a wet dry vac pouring fresh cold water and sucking it out of the carpet until you see nothing but clear water coming out. You may have to remove the carpet completely and hose it off. I don’t think it should have to be replaced. Just cleaned thoroughly. I don’t ever suggest the use of soap because all it does is attract dirt in the future. If you do use soap make sure you rinse it thoroughly.

My vote for charcoal. Baking soda and vinegar will do a number. Worth a try. Just my .02

That sucks, but far better than losing a friend to drinking and driving! Real friends are the ones that would get up at 2 to pick you up. Good on you!

Went by the Toyota dealer and checked out the smell. It still smells like coffee but now with chemicals. They are going to try and clean it again tomorrow.
Cost of replacing carpet mats is $1860 ($1050 for new carpets, and $810 for labor). Worse comes to worst I’ll jusy do this one.

My wife is talking to her father to buy my truck and I get a new one since he was planning on buying a tundra as well since he liked mine. Just need to move the parts to the new one.

Man, I'm sorry to hear that. My wife is getting annoyed with me because I don't allow anything other than water in my new truck.

I'd think if you do some of the stuff others have suggested the smell will eventually dissipate. Good luck!

Here's your remedy for the smell and stain.

By this point the carpet is no doubt dry. Sprinkle with baking soda and let sit a few mins. Doesn't have to look like Michael Irvin's living room but don't be stingy with it. Mix up a few cups (or enough to really cover the stained area) of 50/50 white vinegar and water and pour over the baking soda. It will foam up. Let that sit for 10 minutes. Soak up as much of the liquids as you can with clean towels and vacuum the rest out with your shop vac.

When you think you've got it as dry as possible, put another clean towel folded over on top of the spot and set some weight on it. Let that sit overnight to soak up the remaining moisture. Finally vacuum up any remaining dried baking soda.

    Should be good to go.

Got the truck back from the dealer. The second and third time around they did one great job. They actually pulled out the seat. There was coffee spilled under the carpet onto to the body. They cleaned and dried it. All for $75 after multiple hours. They will continue to get business from me. No more new car smell after one week, but I’m happy now. Back to the mods now.

Did the FIL even attempt to help clean it or cover the cost. If I spilled something in a friends truck, I would be doing the honorable thing to cover cost or do the work myself. PS ( you vomit in my truck, you just bought it for new replacement value) I will give drunk friends a ride home, But they will be treated like a ex-wife , and ride in the bed.

Yes he did. The Toyota dealer did a great job of getting the smell out. Even removed the front seat to get underneath the carpet. The new car smell is coming back slowly. Happy to have my car without the smell.
