My check engine light is on and these are the codes that the truck is showing. My main question is does the EVAP charcoal canister generally go bad with these codes or can I just replace the pumps and values for these codes. No obvious damage to any of these systems so I am probably just going to replace most of the parts anyway as the truck is 11 years old.

Other than going to Toyota for the parts are there any other parts brands on say Rockauto.com that are reliable?

First time posting on this forum and thanks for any information.

Eduxstad...did you correct this problem? I have the exact same issue on my 2010 Tundra.

I did order the evap canister, pumps, and a new gas cap for my Tundra. I put the new gas cap on and it seems to have fixed the problem for now. Will put on the other parts when the weather cools down here in Texas.

Was your gas cap gasket torn?

The rust on the hose clamp in the previous picture from my 2010 Tundra is of concern. Might have water intrusion.

My original gas cap seemed fine, but I replaced it anyway as it was cheap. No way to tell from the outside of evap canister if there is an internal problem.

I bought a new gas cap and cleared the codes. The check engine light did not illuminate and the P2419 code was eliminated. The other 4 codes came back. After a few days, the check engine light returned as did the P2419 code.

    Ordered evap canister from RockAuto.

Late to this conversation, but if you push in the evap hoses by the airbox. There is a small rectangle with 2 or 3 hoses plugged in and a hose with a green cap can sometimes clear thise codes.

RockAuto is solid. Received EVAP canister within two days after placing the order.

The remove/replace of the canister was easy until the final step. I unable to reinstall the red C clip on the rightmost port. I pushed the hose/connector as far onto the port as it will go. The clip is to slide over the connector and after the barb on the port. Anyone have any experience installing this type of clip? See attached pics.

To test the canister, I attached the hose using a zip tie and electrical tape. Cleared the codes with the OBD2 scanner and no more CEL!

Just need to install the C clip.

I noticed there's 2 options on Rock Auto, which one did you go with and did it come with everything needed?

For my 2010, V8 Tundra, from RockAuto I purchased WVE4B1465{#777400C050, VC4388}. Came with everything I needed and fit perfectly.

I'm a tech writer, wrote operation and maintenance manuals for a living. I've written a remove and replace procedure for this EVAP canister if you want a copy.

Can you post the procedure? I’m having the same codes and hope it will be helpful for a 2008 sequoia. If not, I bet others will benefit from it. Thanks.

Ok, this procedure worked for me, can't claim it works on all vehicles/situations. Please take all necessary safety precautions.

Just replaced my charcoal canister and was able to get everything connected, except for the red C retaining clip. I have the hose seated flush to the canister but cannot seem to get the clip to connect. Any suggestions?

As much as I hate to resurrect old threads... I have these exact codes. Was the canister the problem for you guys? Has the CEL come back since swapping it out?

For me, I was purposeful in making sure that I didn’t overfill my gas tank anymore. When the gas pump clicks and stops, I’m done. The CEL hasn’t returned. It took about a month (possibly the canister had to dry out?). Hope you get it resolved!

Thanks, I'm gonna pull mine down today. I'm guilty of topping off my tank... Been doing it since 2010 when new. Sounds like it finally bit me.

I replaced my canister after swapping out the gas cap and not overfilling my tank anymore after seeing the same codes for about four months. No codes since and my truck is running smoother now than it has in over a year.
