Anyone ever get this code pop up? Recently I got an OBD-II Bluetooth scanner and using the torque app, I checked the pending codes and the P0984 popped up. Not an active code, just pending. Code is for transmission slip.

Truck shifts smoothly to me but a couple of weeks ago, intermittently at varying speeds, the truck would not “go” whenever I pushed on the gas pedal to go faster. Didn’t feel like the transmission was at fault, it felt like there was just no power. I cleaned the fuel injectors using a 3 step process and also the throttle body and maf sensor. Truck runs great now and I have not had the problem arise again since then. Could this have possibly tricked the ecu into thinking it was a transmission problem whenever pushing on the gas pedal and not going into a higher gear?
I plan on taking the truck into a transmission shop next week to see if they find anything. Thank you

Thanks for the link as it’s very informative and interesting. I guess best case scenario it’s a loose connection somewhere. Doubtful as I guess as the code is pending and if it was a loose or corroded connection, it would probably be an active code. I searched the forums for the code and nothing came up. It seems a solenoid failure is rare in general and even rarer in a tundra. Nonetheless, thanks

Agree that hopefully it is a loose connection.
